Srixon Z-URS anyone playing them?

comment and feedback?

I have heard some good things about the URS and was wondering if anyone was playing it and how it compared to the Pro V and B330S. Any objective feedback will be appreciated.

I have not hit the ball but I have seen on some other golf forums 3 or 4 guys saying they have played it and they say it the best ball out right now--very long with enough spin to do ok on the greens. They went on and on about it. I'm going to try a sleeve soon myself as soon my supply of other balls gets depleted.

BTW , I not sure which Z-UR Tim Clark used but it was ok enough to get 2nd place in the MASTERS

I play them sometimesand they're so-so. They're definitely no ProV1 or ProV1x but for a hard ball they spin good on full shots, but they'll bite you where you need spin the most, like around the green and such. JMO, Simp

I have been playing the Z-URS for a few months now and for me it performs better than the V1 and V1x. I create a lot of spin and the Z-URS sits right down for me. It is not hard ball by any stretch.

I played a dozen Z-URS last year and was not impressed. The ball played much harder than the Pro V1x and didn't offer any distance or spin advantages. Plays well in the wind and off the driver, but too hard off irons and around the green. Some people really like this ball, but for me it's more of a pure distance ball and doesn't offer anything in feel.

I completely agree!! I played the ZUR and ZURS...A ton of ballooning in the wind..Ok everywhere else, but nothing special...I still have to stick with B330 and Pro V X, although the HX tours are worth looking into...

What is the difference between the ZUR and the ZURS? I have seen the ZUR for $69 and the ZURS for $39........

personally, i think this is the best ball on the market right now. Much better than Titleist and Bridgestone put together. I can play the same ball several rounds and this ball does not cut despite me using Y-cutter wedges. Great feel, distance, and control.

My unscientific response is that I like this ball, and it looks like what I'll be playing this year. It's long, I can get plenty of spin with it, and feels relatively soft on and around the green. That's all I ask for in a ball for the most part.

I have been partial to Bridgestone and Precept offerings in the past - though I had been playing HXTour most recently, and still consider the straight Pro V1 to be the gold standard. But it's nice to play something different.

I played the Z-URS last summer and have started up again - probably does better when the temperature is up - like in the 80s and up like the x or 330, etc. or any premium ball.

I found it a club longer over the 330-S on woods and irons. It spins well on full shots and most partial wedges. On soft delicate shots, you may have to be more of a spin-meister on hard greens to get it to bite - but I've found any roll predictible - which I like. I don't like a chip biting when I expect it to roll a bit (see B330-S, NOP2) but maybe I've been experimenting with too many balls - this one seems to fit.

Not as hard as some claim - yes, it feels rockish next to a 330-S with its marshmallow feel but it's not that firm. Just slightly more firm than the NOP2 off the driver.

In the wind, it's not as balloony as the NOP2 - which already has a high trajectory. But it does have a high launch - I thought it performed well in the wind on shots that were struck well - as well as the NOP2 - which has improved wind performance in terms of not being pushed left and right as much but still will balloon a bit.

If you don't hit the ball well in the wind - no ball will help that much - my mistake is staying on the right side too much and not finishing the swing - when that happens, I'll get my high push. No ball will help that.

Back to the Z-URS. Nice, high energy ball - not perfect. I'd like a tad more greenside spin on partials and a slightly softer feel while keeping the distance. But I understand that the pros are playing a new spinnier proto. Let's hope it has these improvements.

I found it comparable in performance to the B330S in all respects... perhaps a little less greenside spin. The big difference was the incredible durability... as a previous poster noted these balls stand up to Y-cutters.

They are selling them for $39 Australian dollars down here... that's about $28 US. Steal.
