Fujikura 652 . . . anyone playing it?

I have one in my 3wd and love it. Just wondering about the popularity of this shaft.

I haven't hit the 652 but I'm considering it as an upgrade for my Launcher Comp. The aftermarket cost scares me a bit considering I haven't yet had a chance to put a 652 in play during actual rounds (ditto for the Z-com, Accra, Diamana, etc.). In my pursuit of info on shafts and the 652 in particular I've been told by several golfers whose opinions I respect that a much cheaper alternative to the 652 with similar if not better playing characteristics is the Accuflex Icon V2, I haven't hit the Icon V2 yet but I'll be giving this shaft a go in the near future. I've been told that both are excellent smooth swinger (as opposed to hard hitter) shafts. Just something to think about if you're able to get your hands on one for your own appraisal.

The 652 is a great shaft. Just as good in a driver as in a 3w - best for fairly smooth swings, and it plays slightly soft compared with other Fujis. You can often get a pullout in the $90-100 range. The Icon V2 is a fine shaft, but I don't find it nearly as smooth as the 652. The closest match might be the MCC MFS 65 - sometimes called the "orange crush"

I have a 652 X-Flex (untipped) in my Cleveland Comp. and it is an amazing combo! Flat out bombs with this for me! Hits high and just carries without any ballooning! I would highly recc. it to anyone.

I had one in my 4 wood and 3 wood - and enjoyed it. Silky smooth with a nice kick - elevated the ball well. I am now playing a ZCom TW64 (while my son uses the SS-07/652 combo) in my Supernova 3 wood and have used this club for a year - same silky smooth feeling and peformance as the 652 but with the kickpoint slightly lower.

Both are great shafts for 3 woods if you like the mid 60g weights.
