ss is between 93-98, Fuji 757 stiff suitable?

what do you think? My ss is about 95, and I'm looking into buying a Fuji 757 stiff shaft for my driver. Should I go for regular instead?

I'd go with the Reg. what head is this going in ? If its a full bore than maybee go with the stiff .

It depends on your tempo as well, but just based on your SS, you might look at a regular. I use the stiff 757, and I'm at about 107 SS. It feels about right for me - I definitely wouldn't want anything stiffer.

Speeder 757 in Reg is good for 100+ swing speeds, you can always leave it a touch long, and if that doesn't suit your swing speed you can always tip it some. My .02 anyway :)

You can go either way. Don't buy a new one as there are many pulls, especially Taylor Made pulls, floating around.

 

I'd be more concerned with the weight of the shaft fitting your swing as well as the bend profile.

... they don't have a 757 regular, but they do have a Graphite Design YS-6 regular with R510 tp 9.5. Is this a better shaft?

YS6 is a great shaft and a good bargain--less $$$ than a 757.

 

You'll need to get on a launch monitor and on the golf course to see if it's the right shaft for you.

My SS is 95-98 with fast tempo. I had 757 Stiff in J33R (420), 9.5, and I found it a little too stiff for me. My average carry distance with this set up at the range was about 230-235. I switched to YS-7, stiff, and gained about 10 yards; however, it was easy to find that the stability is significantly higher in 757. This is obviously in part due to the fact that the stiffness seems to be so different between 757 stiff and YS-7 stiff. I also had 757 stiff in J33R 460, 10.5 and found the stiffness just good. It may be that the size of the driver head affects your feel. Unless you think 757 is the only option, it might be worth considering 693. Although, I believe, this is not widely available in the States, I think this shaft helps gain some extra distance partiocularly for those that have a habit of a little earlier release.

It's been a long long time since I've seen someone with with 93-98 hit Rifle 6.0. Usually players with a thick upper body and a short hard 3/4 swing. If that's you, 757 stiff might be fine. If not, then it's pure vanity.

The Speeder 757 in a stiff flex is equivalent to an X in most shafts. i play the 757. i had it in my R510TP 8.5* and now in my 905T 9.5*. it is a stout shaft. my ss averages right in the 115-118 mph with my driver if that gives you an i dea of how it performs. i also have a relatively smooth transition but create lots of torque and lag. it helps bring your ball flight down as well.... i have only had good results with the shaft but it doesnt mean its necesarily right for you. if you have anymore questions feel free to pm me.

Our SS is identical and I also play Rifle 6.0,,,tried the 5.5 in two sets of irons but they were just a little too tip soft at impact,,,the 6.0 works perfect,,,hit an 8 iron 150 yds avg.,,,to the point???I tried the 757 in 3 different driver heads ,,2 in stiff,,one in reg,,,apparently you and I are on the line between the two,,,if swinging good on a good day the stiff is fine,,but its a gamble,,,after MANY different combos and too much money spent I found a V2 65 stiff,,it is perfect in my new Hi-Bore,,,enough to handle my strongest swing but still smooth with pop on a more careful swing.Believe me ,,I,ve tried many,,I think you will be very happy with the V2 65S and can move on to other things.

I went ahead and bought the R510 tp 9.5 deg fuji stiff .... The only regular shaft they had was a YS-6 R but the lots of dings on the head, I didn't want it.

 

I asked the sales guy to help me out, and after he saw me hitting couple of balls into the net, he said I can't go wrong with this club. I told him that the my ss is 95 to 98 according to the speedstx, and he said it's not all about the ss, the tempo is also very important. And he added, I got good tempo that he doesn't see any problem at all using this driver.

I don't agree with some that say that the 757 is too stout a shaft for your swingspeed. The only way you will know is if you try it. Fitting someone for a shaft does not involve looking at just the clubhead speed.

 

I've heard similar comments about how hard it is to load, that is feels like a board, etc. In my experience is launches very high in a R7 head, creates medium amount of spin (3500RPM) and is not that hard to load at all.

 

Everyone's swing is different when looking at several factors and feel is a big part of it too.
