Question for the Mizuno experts out there

Hi,

For all the mizuno experts out there, I believe that their US products are forged here domestically (is that true?).

Is there a difference in quality, materials, etc. for products forged in Japan? I'm asking because if I had the opportunity to purchase their stock products while over in Japan would I see or feel any difference?

i always thought that there stuff was forged out of the country, but i'm not sure.

TGC's WITB just featured Mizuno... from what they were showing, and the company big shots being interviewed, it sounded like all Mizuno USA's forgings are made in Japan. I could always be wrong, though :)

I wondered the same thing before I bought my MX-900s. I emailed Mizuno customer service, and the reply was that for US-spec clubs, the heads are forged in Japan, and assembled in the US.

 

I lived in Japan for three years. Didn't buy clubs, but looked an awful lot. My feeling is that the only advantage to buying Japanese-spec Mizunos is the full-blown sucker price you'll have to pay for them.

 

From what I can gather from people that bought clubs in Japan, though, the standard (read: free w/purchase) fitting process is quite more in depth compared to the US, and there are more options in terms of shafts, shaft flex, grip size, etc. w/no additional upcharge.

im pretty sure the head was forged in japan,

 

but the whole club is assembled somewhere else..

 

but i can always be wrong too.!

The heads are forged in Japan and the clubs are assembled at Mizuno's factory in Georgia.

 

I was at my local golf shop when the Mizuno rep. stopped-by with the Mizuno van. I asked him this very question among various others.
