MP-60s and Project Xs

Any have this combo? How well does it work.....I know it depends on the swing characteristics, but generally do these two seem to work well together? I'm also kinda interested in the Black Gold combo with the MP-60s.

It all depends whether you like Project X or not. I had MP-60s with PX and didn't care for them at all. But PX remind me of the old aluminum shafts from years ago.

I had a set of Mp-60's with PX 6.0's. I loved the feel of the long irons and did not like the feel of the short irons. Also I've found that on thicker surfaces they work MUCH better than from tighter lies. This is mainly because of the more rolled leading edge. It felt very difficult and unfamiliar to hit a punch shot with these irons. If I had to give you my best opinion...I'd play a split MP-60/ MP-32 set in Chicago and I would play MP-32's in Texas due to turf conditions. As far as the shafts go, I think the short irons go too high and make it difficult to score otherwise I loved them.

i have a set of mp 32s with project x shafts in them and love them. Feel, ball flight, weight of the entire club, makes it hard to switch back to dg s300. I actually had 6.0s in them and recently switched up to a 6.5. If you ever get your shafts PurED, remember that it will make them a little stiffer. good luck.

I just sold a set of mp 60s with project x 5.5 and I sold a set of x tour with the nipon shaft. I just bought a set of Miura 301 but have not recieved them yet. I thought the mp 60' were a better feeling club but x tour were longer.

I have them in MP37s and I agree that the short irons go higher in Project X (7.0 flex), at least compared to X100s. But I don't think that there's a loss of distance. More of "drop and stop" mentality. I've hit more shots that have better distance control with the PX than the X100s. However, I tend to push a few more shots with the PXs than the X100s. All in all, I really like the way the PXs feel. But, to each his own.
