Wedges: oil can, satin, black nickel

i'm thinking about buying the vokey 200s but not sure if i want the oil can or regular tour chrome. any help on what the differences are. i leaning towards chrome but don't want to sacrafice too much softness or spin. also can't decide on bounce is this a good setup 54-10 60-08 i like a little more bounce on the 60 so i can use it from bunker, tight lies, and rough. any feedback on vokeys would be appreciated. thought about the spin milled vokeys but i heard they really chew up the ball.

Oil can is a different name for a raw finish. The "oil" will go away (at least on the face) after a month or so and it will rust.

Tour chrome is a satin chrome finish that will not rust.

Both wedges feel the same for me and spin the same for me. Some peoople say the raw wedges feel softer and spin more, so try them both and see what you think.

Bounce angles you need to decide for yourself based on your swing and course conditions. If you have a steep swing or play from soft conditions you should play a higher bounce. A shallow swing and firm conditions usually call for less bounce.

One of the things I like about Vokeys is that the higher bounce models have flat but wide soles while the lower bounce models have narrow soles with more camber. They stock grinds are very playable and easy to open and square up. Even in the Texas hardpan, I play a 54.14 and 60.08 and have no problems even though I can get a bit steep with my wedges.

I'd rethink the spin milleds, especially for your L wedge. They are invaluable around the greens because they spin short shots better than any wedge I've ever had. Pitches and chips stop on dimes. Don't worry about the chewing up golf balls, a full swing with good contact on any L wedge is going to scuff up a premium ball. With any new wedge there's a break in period required.

i'll back up the vokeys. just an awesome, awesome wedge.

the bounces on the vokeys are awesome too. i've got a 52.10, 54.10, 58.08, and 60.08 in oil can and the bounces are not too much for the hard fairways of texas, and not too low for the lush fairways of south carolina.

the stock grinds are very versatile for playing square or open.

i prefer the oil can because of the finish/color and i think they are less "clicky" than the chrome, however the grooves do wear guicker becauxe they don't have a chrome coat to protect them. i typical will use a groove sharpener on my wedges every three monthes to give them a fresh bite.
