Playability?

What are your experiences with this wedge? I currently own a cg10 worn out (good grief.) I'm thinking of switching to a Bs j33 wedge because it has a close swingweight and I have a fairly good track record with BS equipment (NO pun inteneded, well maybe a little, I own the DRiver and Utility Iron.) From the looks of it, the only thing really holding me back is the lengthened hosel, much akin to their blade irons. Does this really effect CG or is that something they probably balanced within the clubhead? I doubt they would make a club with a CG at the base of the head near the hosel. I like the cut on the sole and the bounce and etc. is fine, its just the hosel because the reveiwer in the wedge section had some odd comments. TNX

i owned the chrome wedges and found them very nice in the feel and playability department but really lacking in spin. the thing that hurts them is the lack of lofts, had to bend mine to get a 54-58 combo i was used to. but the sole grind was really nice and allowed you to really open it up. incredible feel and the hosel didn't give me any problems whatsoever

The sole grind on this clubs are great!! Its almost always a dollar bill sized divit, even with a poor stroke. As for the spin I find it backs up the ball very well. It sheds the cover off my B300 on most solid shots, so it must be putting spin on those :). The lofts work for me since my PW is 46*, gap is 52*, sand is 56*.

 

I have the black satin wedges, which fade and then rust.... Crome are too glarey for me :cheesy:

 

EDIT - I cant comment on the hosels actual performance but these wedges work great..

I have had good luck with them. Seem to spin for me and nice on longer swings. Are a bit more clicky than my mp-ts. Not better or worse just different.

They've been performing extremely well. I love the sole design...has to be the best out there right now. No dig so I can be very aggresive on the downswing with them. They just cut right through so cleanly.

 

I intended to bend the 52* to 54* but right now I'm not having any gap problems with a 52* and 60*. Probably because the 60* launches lower than other 60* (loft could be a little off) which I really like. Really easy to hit the low skipper and not have it balloon. Feel is superb too.

 

I've been really impressed with BStone's equipment...from the Driver, to the J33 Combos and the wedges.

It seems the only real gripe is the lack of lofts, but I fortuantely use the 4 wedge loft, so the standard lofts are fine. From the looks of it, only one guy feels it lacks spin??? Are you perhaps comparing to a spinmilled? I found the Cg10's are very nice feeling, but I have found thanks too my 704's I prefer a click, which of course, the cg's dont have. It brings me relief that the hosel "dilemma" is a non issue. :) Tnx, I think i trust BS enough to go ahead and buy it.

from what i had heard from others that the black wedges spun more than the regular chrome versions. and yes i use a 60* spin mill now so i guess my views on spin might be alittle biased.

I have used at one time or another: Vokey Raw, Cleveland RTG, Miz MPT black ni and 588s, the black j33s spin as much as anything.

 

Of course the black coating wears off the face pretty quickly

I'm still very pleased with my 56/60 pair of J33 wedges. They are very solid, easy to control the distance, and I dont' notice any lack of spin on them. They don't spin as much as a spin milled Vokey, but they're very, very acceptable.

 

Love that sole as well - very flexible, and easy to use. I will say they are NOT the most forgiving wedge on the planet,but good strikes are rewarded with excellent playability.

Very nice, im basically sold. The lack of forgivness is interesting to hear; from what I know about short game success though, a shot must be perfect any way :) Tnx
