Anyone Played?

I'm headed to Branson, Mis. next month. Just wondering if anyone has played Branson Creek or any other courses in that area.

Branson Creek is one of my favorite courses in Missouri, a must play course. There's few other courses in Branson area that are decent. Ledgestone Golf course at Stonebridge is a nice course to play. Top of Rock has a nice Nicklaus designed par 3 course that I heard is a nice place but I have not played there.

 

I try to play at Branson Creek 2-3 times a year. If you are able to travel a hour or two away from Branson, there's few other nice courses.

I've played it twice.

 

First time was in November back in 2001 I think. It was dormant then, but still an outstanding course. The rates were discounted too.

 

Last time was this past July. It was over 100 degrees that day and it looked as though not one single group in front of us fixed their ball marks on the greens. I didn't think it was in all that great of shape. It was in better shape back in November of '01 at least as far as the greens are concerned.

 

It's definately worth the trip and fee of $100 though. Great tees and zoysia (sp) fairways.

 

You will see all sorts of wildlife. We saw several turkeys and deer up close and personal.

 

This course is definately what the Branson area needed.

 

FYI, they top-dressed (airfyied) their greens about three weeks ago and were discounting their rates too because of this. With the temperatures we've had in this part of the US, they should be getting close to being good again. We should be in the mid 80's here again today, and I am about 2.5 hours South of Branson.

A true 5 star course.

 

Just north about 45 minutes to Springfield and you will find several nice tracks to play.

You mean 45mins SOUTH of Springfield?

I am local and that is my fav course too.

BC's website has a few Fall deals going right now at http://www.bransoncreekgolf.com/specials.php

You can also check this one: http://ky3.halfoffdeals.com/index.php?index_type=home but it's iffy if Branson Creek will be on there between now and next week. Every time they throw a deal out there it sells out in minutes. However, if you're interested in John Daly's Murder Rock (which is right down the road) I think there's still a coupon there to be had. Haven't heard the greatest reviews, but might be worth a shot at half price.

Branson Creek is a great course, probably the best in the area and definitely top 10 in the state (if not top 5). And right now, with the Fall colors in the Ozark mountains, it should be breathtaking. A great time to come and play.
