I picked up a mini sleeve of these yesterday and played 9 (head to head with prov1x)with it...I was super impressed... very long, super durable(even with spin mill wedges!) and it has a much softer feel off the putter and irons, but without compromise.. much improved.... might be my new ball this year...

I assume you are posting this to alert others to the possibility of using the One Black. When people say what a great ball "this" or "that" is, I always wonder what their driver swingspeed is. Balls seem differentiated these days with some better for fast swingers, others for those with slower swingspeeds. Don't take this personal, but without this information (swingspeed), comments like this are worthless to me.

In all honesty I could careless weather or not this thread as any value to you or anyone...I certainly don't benefit in anyway shape or form.

Swingspeed has little value if your a 30 handicapper, but if your a single digit or less , then it relevant.

But for $5 for a 2pac, you can find out for yourself.

Take a look at the thread concerning the Consumer Reports ball test. The NOB came out as the best ball and they tested with 90 and 110mph swing speeds.

I also have recently been running these balls through the paces on the course. I love them, they spin better for me than the ProV1X does and have a 10x more durable cover than the V1's. My swing speed is 110-115 with my driver. The nike's are longer and straighter for me even in the wind. They really feel soft off of everything. I think i still need to do some more playing with it but i see no reason for my to not switch to the nike. Like metalhead said, these things stand up to the spin milled very well.

Under rule 3.2, subsection 2, line 8...under penalty of law...no positive comments about Nike Equipment are allowed on any golf internet based chat board

The penalty for breaking said law is death and banishment from all golf forums... :cheesy: :cheesy: :)

I guess I am getting booted, because the One Black is a very, very good golf ball that could benefit a lot of players if they gave it a try.

I'm curious then. Why did you bother wasting your valuable time posting at all? Not everyone who reads these posts is a 30 handicapper. Consider it "relevant".

According to my Nike rep here in Dallas, swing speed is almost irrelevant with the new Nike One series. At least with a person that has over a 90 mph SS. But the difference between the Black and the Platinum is that the black is supposed to have a lower launch whereas the Platinum has a higher launch. Hope that clears up some confusion.

I am playing the new Nike One Platinum, and I agree with you Metalhead that the new Nike balls are great. I am intrigued in the NOB, I always thought it was a harder ball, but the fact that it has a lower ball flight peaks my interest. Tomorrow I will swap out a sleeve of NOP's for some NOB's. Thanks for the comments, I am very excited to compare the two.

It is infact a very solid ball. Considering my SS ( about 106-108) spits balls anywhere between 270-300 yrds, Distance is not a key issue. Irons feel like any other ball, might just be me not caring about the sound of my iron struck balls. What catches my interest most is the greenside feel. Putts feel better than my sacred B330s, while spin characteristics are similar. Durabilty, as everyone else mentioned, is stellar. When I run out of my free-bee PROv1x's Ill buy a dozen NOB's. Undoubtedly a keeper for 06. (I luv S.A.T.'s).
