Newbie Needs Help With Taylormade

I just found this website and I love it! Great info! I have an TISI Tec 5.5 (Tour issue) with a Graffalloy Tour S shaft in it and can hit over anything with great distance. Just wanting to try something different and started looking at Taylor R7's on Ebay. After reading some of yalls posts about clubs that TM had a lot of inventory on and was dumping I started getting nervous about getting a real tour issued driver. You used to could tell by the TXXXXX number but now they have B and C's. Just wondering. Also, I hit the ball very high and with good distance. My speed is around 107, does the HT really hit the ball higher than the regular R7 tour issue? Also, the Diamania shaft, is it is great as everyone says. Thanks for your answers!

the serial numbers on all TM tour drivers start Txxxxx with the B or C above it stating it has passed the COR test & is legal for play. i don't really understand your question about the HT & R7, but if your talking about the tour drivers of both, yes the R7 shallow's flight is higher than the deep faced R7.

How can you tell by the serial if it is a true tour issued driver? HoMStYLz, you answered my question about ball flight.

a true tour issued TM driver will have that T XXXXX serial on its hosel. the older models will have batch numbers like B or C above it, but the newer ones are now laser etched and i don't believe they have a batch number above it... well the ones i have seen do not have it. Basically if it has a T serial, it is Tour Issue. Without that T serial it is not a genuine TM tour issue driver.

all of my R7 425 drivers have a "B" above the T as I stated before. this means that they have been tested & meet the USGA's COR as i stated above.
