how to tell if shafts are hard stepped

i have x100's and i would like to know if they are hard stepped. how can i tell? i think its about 7 inches tell first step but i am not sure. i will check when i get home from school. about how far from the hozel do they have to b to be hard stepped?

The best thing to do is compare them straight up with another identical set of clubs and see where the tip sections meet up.

 

If you tell us what clubs they are, perhaps someone can give you some hosel to first step measurements for an iron on X100's and you can compare.

 

You can also cut a grip off and see what the length printed on the shaft below the flex code is.

i would access a raw shaft and compare tipping.

 

normal tipping is 1 inch for 3 iron 2 for 5 3 for 7 4 for 9 etc.

check the 9 iron and the PW. They should have the same step length. If they do, they are standard. If they do not, they are probably softstepped.

would it matter if my pitching wedge is a vokey and my 9 iron isnt? o yea and it is 5.5 inches til the first step in my 4 iron
