Nickent Ironwood - steel shaft?

Nickent web site has the steel shaft listed as 'Nippon 950' and is Uniflex stiffness. I checked this club out at local retailer but the shaft is a True Temper ST-90. What is this - is it the same as the Nippon ?

Anyone have expereicen with the ST-90 shaft?

the nickent 3DX "DC" has the NSPro 950 in the Utiltiy and teh iron wood. however, the 3DX non "DC" from last year has the St-90 shaft

Giogolf, where did you get the "Testing" driver's, fairway woods, and hybrid. I have been looking for them everywhere. Can you do a review on them???

Anyone that has a hybrid should consider the Accuflex HL shaft. Doesn't get any better.

what I want to know is...wtf is "uniflex stiffness" ???

It's something between stiff and regular, if my memory is served.

I do have a uniflex 3dx 17, no opinion about the shaft, but the head is just too UN-forgivable for me. In fact the penalty of miss shot is worse than the one 2 iron gave me.

I have a retail Nickent 21.5* with the ST-90 and a tour 20* with a Fuji 904h and honestly they both get a lot of play in my bag. Clearly the fuji plays tighter, flies lower and is stiffer. But in a hack stick, sometimes I like the cheap steel shaft. The ball flight is high and soft, it works well getting the ball up out of really nasty lies, etc. So I guess the answer to whether the ST-90 is a viable option just depends on what you are looking for. I think for a hack stick it works. I wouldn't want it in my irons, but when I hit a hybird I am usually just try to keep the ball in play, or get it back in play, and for that purpose uniflex steel is ok by me. From the tee the tour head with the Fuji wins hands down though . . .
