V steel 3 wood vs R7 fairway steel 3 wood

thought on switching ?

Hi there,

I am a hig handicapper and still in the phase of being a technology savvy that whatever is new in the market i would feel would help me build my confidence in my golf swing.

i am thinking of replacing my v steel with r7 fairway steel. i have a hard time squaring the face of the v steel and and it launches too high. i am a slow swinger 80-85mph. I have a rescue dual 19* and i can hit it much better than my v steel and just assuming that the movable weight is working for me thats why i am considering the r7 fairway steel.

I am using it off the tee. I dont have a driver yet.

just want to have your thoughts about it.

The V-steel is one of the best 3-woods made, changing fairway woods will not help your situation. First off you should have a driver, beginner or not, you definitely need a driver. Don't stress to much about hitting your fairway woods of the deck or off the tee, they take alot of practice. It took me years to learn that it was not my fairway wood that was causing me grief, it was the way I hit the ball, setup, etc. When you are playing, use your hybrid for reliability...when you are practicing, concentrate on your fairway woods. You will eventually learn how to hit them comfortably. The V-steel is a solid club, In some occasions I will hit the Vsteel farther than my driver. It is a very strong club.

nah, i dont think the r7 steel is worth getting if you already have the v-steel. both are excellent clubs but i dont see any major differences in performance between the two. i think you should save the money and think about getting a driver. the r5dual drivers have been marked down in price and is now only a little bit more than the r7steel.
