This isn't a question, it's a fact. The hibore has the lowest and deepest center of gravity. From what I have read it also is the first driver to have the center of gravity and the sweet spot in the same position.

The SQ is a great step up, but when you want the best of the best. GO to HIBORE. I got fit on a monitor and there isn't anything that compares to it.

Those of you with the SQ, wave cuz hibore is straighter and longer overall.

Cheers

Have to chime in with another possitive review of the Hibore. I have hit my friend's SQ and it is very long but the Hibore just seems to keep rolling. I have also been able to find a shaft comob with the Hibore that suits my game well, as where I just cant seem to get my launch angle to my liking with the SQ. Still, both are great drivers.

Seriously, both of these drivers use innovative technologies and it will come down to preferences and personal results when deciding which to play. Let's just be thankful that companies these days are finding ways to help us find fairways more often and be further down 'em at the same time.

Otherwise this just becomes a pissing match, so get our your rulers!!

Thats a great question!!!!!! how many are using it ? the hi bore that is. i was able to go to the tpc @sawgrass and the bellsouth classic. found it a bit odd that under all but 2 of the head covers that i personally saw the majority of the drivers were Taylormade, or the older Cleveland comp and ti 460 and one titleist. in fact there were several Taylormade 580's hmmmmmmm! makes you wonder how good the HI BORE really is. and apparently VIJAY hasnt been getting the distance he thinks he needs out of that he has had 47" shaft in there. again hmmmmmmm?

i don't understand the arguements here about what the pros are using. yes, many nike players are using the sq (a version of the sq not available to the public) and not many cleveland guys are using the hi-bore. but does that mean the sq is longer or the hi bore isn't long?

the c.o.r. of drivers has been set for a number of years. the hi bore and sq technology are about spin, launch angles and moi. it will make it easier for a person to get the club square and get optimal launch conditions, but the ball isn't going to come off the head any faster. the are also making the sweet spot better, so the ball will come off at a fast speed even with shots not on center.

as for the c.o.g. i believe the cleveland is lower than the sq, but the sq is further back.

Well,as far as not using a driver because of it's sound???If I can hit it farther and straighter I wouldn't care if it sounded like John Daly passing gas,,,it.s all about performance,,,but I agree that the right shaft/head combo makes comparisons of clubs with like technology difficult,,,have never hit the SQ,,therefore no opinion,,,but my new 10.5 Hi-Bore with a UST V2 65S is so damn long and straight I can't imagine anything else being much better.

One negative about the Hi-Bore [that again, I can't compare with the SQ],,it is more difficult to work than an R7,,,but it MAY be the shaft,,,??? But what the HAY is wrong with VERY long and STRAIGHT?

I own them both. I do have to say the SQ wants to go straight all day long. Period. The Hi-bore wants to fly farther and roll. I'd have to say I'd give the nod to the Hi-Bore, but I'll keep my SQ depending on what my mood is...

Thank you for your critique. You made up my mind. I bought the HiBore 9.5 UST V2 65S because it seemed to go forever. I have been searching for a 3-wood to put in the bag. When I tried the SasQuatch it was noticeably shorter than the HiBore but it just wanted to go straight. I have a 17-degree Nike T40 for a fairway wood. I am going to put a 10.5 SasQUatch in my bag to use it when straight is more important than distance. Good post.

FWIW the new sq commercial clear stated that the sq has the deepest cog and highest MOI on the market today.

that does answer the question.

I would definitely agree on the MOI part, especially since the HIBore mentions nothing that it has the highest MOI. And if the SQ is straighter, you can always rip it harder. Or pull a VJ and put in a longer shaft.

actually vijay was playing a 47" shaft, because he hits it so straight he wants to add even more distance. David Toms isnt using it, because he hits it too straight. The Hi-bore goes so straight vijay can play a 47" shaft that is like a E8 swing weight

I SAID just did a little research on VIJAY DRIVING DISTANCE / DRIVING ACCURACY

2006 292.5 / 57.6

2005 301.0 / 60.2

this year hes losing in both of the catagories you suggest hes doing so well in. still the rest of the year good luck on that HIBORE THING :)

A lot has been covered in this post.

I believe that he HiBore has the lowest COG. I also believe that the SQ Max has the deepest COG just based on the fact the its geometry allows it to be placed further back than the HiBore. MOI is probably no contest as the SQ’s is extremely high relative to anything out now.

As far as straight. the SQ MAX has been stupid straight for me. Fairways are just easier to hit. My experience with the HiBore is limited to a launch monitor, but it was so straight that it was almost impossible for me to reliably work the ball. When my 10.5 with NVS 75 comse in, I will be able to speak to distance. I can say that my 10.5 degree SQ Max with a NVS 75 is shorter than my FT-3 but straighter. Here is the thing though, the SQ Max is very easy to work. Just based on my launch monitor experience, I would say that the Hibore will be less versatile. I don’t see me working the ball with it. Straight is ok with me. If the pros are playing the same Hibore head that I hit, I could see many passing on it. There are more workable drivers available to them.
