Who makes GolfSmith Snake Eyes Forged Irons?

Anyone have any exeriences with them?

Anyone know who makes Golfsmith Snake Eyes line of forged irons? I demoed the 600XC forged the other day and they felt quite nice. I have never thought much about playing them just because I don't like the name on em. :) I know thats goofy, but they do feel nice and I like the slightly oversized forged. Any info would be appreciated. Oh, and Golfsmith won't say.

I use Golfsmith components, and I think that Snake eyes is one of the brands they own, such as killer bee. I think they also own Lynx. So I guess it is just snake eyes who makes the heads. Hope that helps

I have played, built and sold Golfsmith / Snake Eyes components for years and there components (Golfsmith, Snake Eyes, Lynx, XPC, Killer Bees etc.) are manufactured overseas. Here is comment from Golfsmith from the "Clubmakers forum" which is at www.golfsmith.com about this topic:

"We use major foundries that produce clubs for some of the major OEMs. Our quality speaks for itself. I would just simply say compare the heads, the specifications, the consistency, the finish quality. Overall, I think we have as good as there is available. There are other suppliers with good product, but there are also some with questionable quality. Ping Does have its own facility, but the majority of all other clubheads made are being made in Taiwan and China. There are some west coast foundries doing some OEM work and there are foundries doing work in Mexico, but again, the majority are being made overseas."

I have hit almost everything out there and I think Golfsmith components are the equal in quality, looks and performance to any golf manufacturer. They key is clubfitting. It doesn't matter what you use, if it doesn't fit your swing then it is not going to give you the best results.

Snake Eyes is a great brand! I just switched to my pings, but I had the forged Snake Eyes 600b for 3 years. Loved em! They are good.

 

I will be adding 4 new SE wedges to the bag very soon.

I can find out, but I do know for fact that Golfsmith and snake Eyes are made buy Golfsmith only designers and craftsman. Wishon used to design for Golfsmith until 2001 then went on his own.

 

Snake Eyes makes fantastic irons, the 600 line feel just as good if not better compared to the other leading forged OEM's.

i play golfsmith XPC-3 irons. i will not get new ones until i find anything near as long and easy for me to hit. i compared the XPC-3 7 iron to a 600xc 7 iron on the course and the 600xc was around 10-20 yards shorter. it did feel much smoother, but i didnt have the control with that club that i have with my xpc-3.
