i506 vs rac lt

can anyone do a comparison review?

briefly hit the srixon i506 at a demo day the other week and came away very impressed. the scattered reviews i've been reading on this board seem to confirm my impressions of this being a great underrated club.

can anyone who has hit both of these clubs do a brief comparison? do these clubs play simliar? i want to say the i506 are more forgiving w/ less offset (look better at address) but i wasn't able to do a side-by-side comparison of the two since i didn't have my rac lts w/ me at the demo.

I can not comment on the LT's to much, becasue once I hit three or four balls I put them down becasue they felt so harsh. I am not a big fan of TM Cast irons though. As for the I506, I would say they are a game improvemtn iron in a players cavity's clothes.

They are sweet, feel is super smooth, and great trajectory. However, for me, I like the I302s becasue they were more player oriented.

I can't comment on the i506's but I disagree that the LT's feel harsh? The original LT's are some of the softest cast irons you will ever hit! I know because I play them!

i agree, i'd have to say that the LT is a very soft feeling cast iron.

anyone else have comments on the 506? it looks like an mx-23 type club w/o the offset of the mizuno.

you can not go wrong with the i506 especially with proj. x with no upcharge and 2 day turnaround.

i like the 2004 LT better than the new lt2.

YES, the LT1s (not the LT2s) are definitely the softest irons that I have tried. I haven't yet tried Miura's so can't call LTs the softest irons in the world, but LT's are so soft. I play them and they are very soft and gives you plenty of forgiveness. They are not game improvement irons, so little different from the SRixons. The trajectory on LTs are low and strong, which I like.

I have hit both of them. The I-506's are way better. Good feel. I love the minimal offset and how it is a CB but w/ a blade like appearance. They are by far one of the most underrated irons. Srixon is also one of the most underrated golf companies as well. I did not like the LT's. They fly to low and the 506's have way better feel. Don't get me wrong-the 506's don't balloon but they have a higher flight than the LT's.

so is it safe to say that the 506's are DEFINATELY more forgiving than the LTs?

I notice the sole is slighter wider in the srixon than rac lt.

i am actually looking to lower the ballflight of my rac lt. if 506s hit higher, i may need to try another shaft. i've tried rifles and dgs, how does project x play in the 506s?

I am not sure about the shafts but I believe I hit the Rac LT's and I-506'd lower than anyone. I hit the 506's low as what my friends say and I notice I do tend to have a lower ball flight than others. So high for me on the 506's could be perfect for you. Also just for your info, the 506's are 1 degree strong compared to the LT1's. Ex. I-506: 46º PW, LT1: 47º PW
