120 ss with a regular shaft?

After testing an alpha reation v.2 driver with an mfs 65n shaft(258cpms) i realized the shaft was to soft and the kickpoint too low. So i decided to go with a graf Blue. The guy said that all he had was regular flexes but we thought we would still test to see what the cpm's might be. It turns out to be 264cpm's thats nearly a xxstiff. This helped bring the launch angle down and im hitting it great. Just thought i would share that story with you guys.

It's going to be a little weird to see regular flex on my shaft but the results speak for themselves.

Many OEM's consider 260 cpm's as being stiff, therefore 258 cpm's would be sub-flex of stiff while 264 cpm's would be a sub-flex just over stiff. I'm not sure where X-flex or even XX-flex is coming from, generally 270 cpm's is considered to be X-flex.

 

I have a R-flex shaft that has been tipped 1/2" and I believe it frequencies to around 7.2 on the Rifle scale. Between shaft manufacturers there is no standard, some as stiff to other manufacturers are actually R-flex, there is no rhyme nor reason for their scale of flex.

the graffaloy blue, as do many graffaloy shafts, are stiffer than they say on the shaft. also, some of the frequency meters can show low kickpoint, soft tip shafts to play softer than they really are or vice versa, and read high kickpoint/tip stiff shafts stiffer than they really are.

 

again, like the noid said, there is not standard frequency for reg., stiff, etc... between the different manufactures.
