FT3 Tour VS FT3

I need your opinons so i can finally make a decison. I have an FT3 right now (non tour) and am a 3 handicap. Is it worth switching to a ft3 tour or should i stay with what i have and reshaft it?

only difference is half loft and face angle... the non-tour is supposed to be leaning towards the closed side while the tour is supposed to be square to open. If you hit the non-tour fine..why switch.

While I agree that if you are hitting the regular FT-3 fine why switch but having said that I am a 7 index right now and I can't hit the regular version well at all. I play a 8.5 Tour with draw bias and I turn the ball over nicely and consistently with ease. The Tour version also has slightly higher CG and a 65gm shaft (vs regular 55gm) to lower the flight a little over the standard model.

 

If you do get it reshafted make sure you take it to someone who knows what they are doing. You can't heat these up like a regular Ti driver to remove the shaft or it may effect the bond of the carbon crown to the Ti cupface.

If they are dumb enough to heat it up what can happen to the bond or carbon crown or cupface?

And if you don't notice that right away, you will when the carbon separates from the cupface which it will surely do at some point in the near future.

well with the new opti fit system that shouldn't be a big deal if you get the newer model of the ft3!

Perhaps I am mistaken, but I thought the Opti-fit system was only for demoing then once you settled on a combo they would make you up a driver in that configuration with epoxy instead of bolting it onto the shaft.

You're right On In Two, the Opti-Fit system is only to allow an easy switch between shafts when demo'ing the club. Once you decide on the shaft/head combo that fits your swing, they install the shaft just like any other club (ie. with epoxy)
