Better Driver: nike - more technology and innovation but titliest is right there, just less technology and innovation

 

Better Fairway Wood: nike - t-60 is very easy to hit. titliest looks good, but not always the easiest to hit.

 

Better Hybrid: nike. titliest currently doesn't have anything that is real forgiving and easy to hit, but rumors sound like they will have something better coming, but for now nike. slingshot tour is real nice and the cpr's are tried and true.

 

Better Iron: toss up. titliest is better for "players" clubs with different models, but doesn't have a lot for game improvement. nike has a couple of great "players" clubs and a wide variety of game imporvement and in between clubs.

 

Better Wedge: titliest. the vokeys are just so tried and true and are great because of the wide variety of loft and bounce combinations and different finish types. the nike wedges (forged and sv) are great too, but limited lofts and bounces. nike is coming along though but vokey will always be the standard

 

Better Putter: titliest/scotty cameron. nike's big weakness is the putter line. the t-130 os model puts a great roll on the ball, but they have a very limited selection outside that. nike has some catching up to do on this.

 

ball: toss up. i know some believe titliest is the standard that all balls are compared to, but the nike balls are just as solid. nike again does have a wider variety of balls for all levels.

 

in my opinion, nike wins 3 to 2 with the irons and balls being a push

Better Fairway Wood: Nike T60 is the best fairway wood I have ever played

Better Hybrid: Push, but I do like the New Slingshot Tour Hybrid

Better Iron: Titleist as they offer more models

Better Wedge: Titleist, Vokeys are probably the best ever but the Nike are very solid

Better Putter: No Question-Titleist

Ball : Id say Nike after Consumer Reports findings. The Nike Ones are awesome and the $14.00 a dozen Super Far Soft outpreformed most ever ball on the CR testing.

 

I think Nike has a good future ahead considering they are very new in the golf world. Plus Nike will not hesitate in hiring the best in the business in there design and technology. I hope to see more forged iron offerings that we see on tour and a decent putter line in the future from them. That, in my opinion, are the primary areas they need to grow in.

 

But then again, you can tell I am a big Nike ho.

Regardless prices, is T60 W3 really better than SQ W3 ? The deep face of Ti60 is really a concern for me, especially for the fairway shot.

Better Driver: Nike hands down, the SQ is not a simple rehash of an older driver. Titleist makes solid drivers, but they haven't truly been innovative since the 975D, which was revolutionary in it's day.

Better Fairway Wood: Tie, this is pretty much left to personal preference.

Better Hybrid: Nike. CPR's and Slingshots might not be much to look at, but they're hella effective.

Better Iron: Tie. Nike blades will compete with ANY muscle back on the market. Nike offers, IMO, the best combo set out, and at least have a popular game improvement iron. Titleist might be for serious players, but the hacks out number the scratch's and they are missing out on a large portion of the market.

Better Wedge: Titleist. They have Vokey, nothing much else to say.

Better Putter: Titleist. IMO, Nike's putters are an after thought to their club lineup. They need a serious craftsman to head up their putter division .

Better Ball: Tie. The ProV's rule the market but the One series is every bit the equal.

There are people that are clear fans of both and there are plenty of people that hate anything Nike and will dump at the first opportunity.

I can see that some have actually engaged their brain and give props where it's due. I've noticed many of the "nike guys" give credit where it's due and "others" simply vote one way. It's easy to tell the bias when you see their sig though.... :golfer:
