SQ Tour shaft/loft recs...

My intelligence indicates that I will be getting an SQ via the 3 club tour in the near future for upcoming bday. Current driver is a Cleveland Ti460 8.5 with prolaunch 65 stiff. I hit it very well, swinging about 110 mph mid tempo. My mis with it is a push right that balloons slightly. What should I chose for the SQ options (head and flex).?

are you getting the sq or the sq tour? these are two different drivers.

 

sq tour is high spin head. very hot off the face, and pretty straight but you can shape the ball (as well as slice and hook). for me, and what i got when in a quest for a new shaft for my sq, many people who use the sq tour use the same shaft they were using in there previous driver, myself included (sq tour w/ aldila nv-75 - ignite 410 w/ aldila nv-75).

 

sq is a low spin head. again very hot off the face and absolutely straight. all this thing wants to do is go straight. for this driver you will need to be careful of the shaft use choose. because of the low spin the ball will not stay up as long so you've got to find the shaft that will give the you the ideal launch angle and spin numbers.

 

to give you a better anser of what shaft, you would need to give us your typical ball flight, swing speed, etc.... my first guess would be the prolaunch would work, but you would need to look at a 9.5* head instead of he 8.5*.

Typical ball flight with my current combo is mid/high, which is typical of all my clubs. Swing speed 108-112 range.

 

 

i would think that I am better of with the SQ, since I tend to spin the ball enough as is. Thanks

if you think you are a high spin player... go down to a 8.5* on the sq and i recommend a 65x V2 shaft.... this IMHO with out knowing anything else is the cheapest but more effective for what you have described as your swing

Do you think the 75g would be that much different?

75g will just do to things.. lower ball flight a little and raise sw.
