Balanced Certified Fitting

What does it entail?

Hey guys and gals, I was thinking about getting a Balance Certified Weight in my putter, and maybe other clubs if it works out well, and had a few questions.

1) What does a fitting for a putter entail? (Balanced Certified)
2) Can Joe do it? Or is there anyone here who can and does do it?
3) Does it really make a difference?

There were some things on #3, but 1 and 2 I hadn't seen much information.

It's all about feel, I have a #7 in my putter. Overall the putter feels heavy, but when you make a stroke it feels lite and stable. I'd gives me a better feel in my hands.

It really isn't very hard to install. You can either put it in the shaft at the end under the grip if you don't mind putting on a new grip or they sell a drill bit tool that makes a perfect hole at the butt end of the shaft. They slide in & are tighten with an small allen wrench. I like it in my driver too (#3). They should have retailers listed on their webpage.

Basically, the putter fitting I went through was a straight ten-foot putt on the putting green. they have a series of weights that are only for testing that use the hole in the end of the grip to be seated. You keep stroking putts with a variety of these weights. Believe me, you will know both from feel as well as results, when you have found the right weight for you. The best approach is to then have the fitter drill out the end of the grip and insert the drop in weight. You can buy the drill bit tool to do it yourself, if you want. The drop in weights tighten in place with an allen wrench.

For drivers and irons, there is a set of three "Power rings" which slip over the grip that are used by the fitter. You hit balls with them in place and see which helps produce longer and straighter shots. Then you put the clubs through the same process of drilling out the end of the grip and using the corresponding drop-in weights.
