.58 and .60 grips?

What is the difference between .58 and .60 grips? I know they are for different shafts sizes. But is one grip bigger? Ex. A jumbo grip is bigger than a midsize grip. Is .60 bigger? or will they go on a .58 shaft the same? Like size wise. Thanks!

A .600 grip is not bigger then a .580 core. It just has a .020 bigger core in it. The outer diameter is no different.

They are pretty much std. size, so smaller than midsize and jumbo...i just had my clubs regripped today actually, and even though I don't have big hands, I like to have two wraps of tape underneath

If .580 grips are used on .580 butt size you come out with a standard size grip. If you use .600 grips on .600 butt size you come out with standard size grips also. If you use .580 sized grips on .600 sized butts you come out with 1/32nd oversized grips. I don't know what you come out with if you use .600 grips on .580 butt size, maybe a lose grip :golfer: .

I believe you have that backwards, if you put .580 grips on .600 shafts, you end up with 1/32nd over sized grips, not undersized. :golfer:

I am confused here. I have always believed that a .580 is smaller than a .600. I believe that one person had it right by saying that the .580 would feel bigger on a .600 shaft. the .600 would feel smaller on a .600 shaft. I have always wondered why the nike golf clubs come with a .600 grip but always felt smaller than the others with a .580 grip. I am thinking correctly here anyone?

I am sure some scientist guy will explain this. Most steel iron shafts are .600, if you put a .600 grip on a .600 shaft it will feel smaller than normal. If you put a .580 on a .600 it feels bigger. I personally like the smaller grip feel even though i have fairly large hands. I wear large glove when i wear a glove. I switched to new decade multi compounds when they came out last year and discovered i liked the smaller grip size. New decades are .600.

If you slip the grip on, and then milk it down as far as it will go, you stretch the grip out thin, and make it smaller than the standard size. I sometimes pull my grips down tight just to make them thinner, especially with the wedges.

 

Get in the habit of pushing the grips on from the butt end, and then one quick rub down, and then small pull back, this should have them in their natural state, and not stretched out nor bunched up. Practice makes perfect. :golfer:

actually it is 1/64th oversize which is .0075 per side and nobody here will ever know it is such a small size,believe me I'm a machinist.
