Project X Flighted

Anyone have any info on these

I was reading the TaylorMade Blog and Tour Info news letter and it was talking about putting a "NEW" set of Rifle FLIGHTED Project X Shafts in Darren Clarke's Irons!

This would be my set made in heaven!!!

I love my PX but i wish i got a little more height in my 3 & 4 irons to land softer.

But i'm scared of getting the new HL (high launches and getting too much spin in the lower irons.

....."We re-shafted a new Project X Flighted Rifle into Darren’s rac TP, as well as one in Lonard’s TP MB irons. Project X Flighted Rifle features low kick-point in the long irons to promote higher launch and spin and higher trajectory. The kick-point sinks progressively lower throughout the set, compared to typical short irons that have a high kick-point to bring the ball flight down. Players who have been utilizing the Flighted Rifle are happy with the results."

It looks to me that they are mixing Project X HLs in the long irons, and Project X in the mid and short irons.

the project x are all about constant weight. Why have your heaviest shaft in a 3-iron where you want lightweight.....and thus have the lightest shaft in your pw wheree you want a heavier one?!?!? thats what theyve done....If trimmed correctly the flighted shafts should weigh the same no matter what iron they are in.

I thought the PX's had all the Royal Precision bells and whistles...like the flighted technology.

"flighting" isn't a technology, but just a way of setting the shafts up. flighted means the kickpoints vary. as it was explained to me, with parallel tips, any rifle shaft can be "flighted" by using rifle blanks. it can be done with parallel tips too, but the way i understood it, its a process of hard and soft stepping the shafts.

 

i went to a certified rifle club maker to get fitted for new shafts and he explained (okay, tried, some of it went over my head) a lot about the rifle shafts to me. in the long run we didn't change my shafts and he ended up giving me a lesson.

i guess i'm not making the connection, how will the flights or kick points of the flighted PX compare with the original PX?
