Tour Tempo--Book and CD

Any users and what are your results?

Just recently got around to reading the book "Tour Tempo" and listening to the CD. It's pretty interesting and I am going to work with it for a while. Anyone here tried it and what are your results?

I bought this book, and tried out the cd on the driving range. When I first listened to it without a club, I thought there was no way to swing that fast. Then when I got to the range, I realized that my tempo is a fair amount faster. I felt like I was "hanging out" at the top of my backswing. So, I never tried it again. I'm not so sure that slowing my swing down, is going to give me MORE distance. I could be totally wrong and would appreciate any information to the contrary.

It is a magic elixir for some that works like crazy for a week or two and then their swing returned to normal.

I found good success with it simply because it showed how I try to power the swing with my hands. This book actually set me on the path to finding good swing mechanics.

This product is a DISASTER if you do no have sound swing mechanics, but for those of you who feel like your swing maybe just missing something, this could be the ticket, either way you will learn what you need to do to get better.

I bought it after a week of rough rounds when I wasn't making great strikes with my irons, althoug iron play is my strongsuit at a very low handicap. Found that the product improved my driving, I have never hit so many straight drives while keeping up my usual distance, by shortening my driver swing, I think. The tempos are not neccessarily fast, they just prevent excess hip motion by creating a short backswing type thought. My wedges and short irons have improved as well, and I've increased accuracy by shortening that swing as well. It is not a tempo that suits me well with long and mid irons, but I'm definatly getting back to pre-swing collaspe faster than if I go back to take some lessons. If you have a good swing and are in a rut, I think this is the best product out right now

I agree that if you don't have sound mechanics then the book may hurt more than help. Which is why I think it has that section on simple drills for your swing. For myself, I have a swing that I'm comfortable with, so I skipped that and went to the CD. I had to speed up and was way to slow before, it took a range session but I've gotten used to it. My irons and driver have definitely improved and especially on the range I have more of those moments when you pure 10 straight shots exactly as you want. It also helped me play and get 20 swing thoughts out of my head and just concentrate on tempo.

I was told to read part of that book and get the CD into an MP3 player. Take it to the range or back yard and speed it up. My instructor had my swing side by side on video with slow swingers and I was standing still. I couldnt believe how slow and methodical my tempo was (still is).

I have yet to actually practice with it. I need to. :)
