Shaft length for Tour R5?

I have a tour R5 head and a Re-ax Rombax 75g (s) shaft. The shaft has been professionaly pulled from a tour R7425. The taylor made grip is still on the shaft.

 

My question: How long does the shaft need to be to play 44 3/4"??? Is there a difference in hosel depth between the R5 and the R7425???

 

I measured the shaft from end to end and it seems to be around 43".....Keep in mind the grip is still on the shaft so 43" is a guess.

I don't know hte answer to your question, but if it is too short you can put in an extension under the grip.

to play at 44 3/4" it needs to be 42 1/4 " long (with grip)

I'm not really sure if it has to be 43" or 43 1/4" to play to 45" in a (newer) TaylorMade driver. I just bought a shaft from a member here and he said 43 1/4".

 

That said, I would think to play at 44 3/4" it needs to be at least 42 3/4" long.

 

Can anyone else confirm this?

R5 bore is 1.5 inches.

 

A shaft should be 43.25 inches (ungripped) to play at 45" gripped (remember a grip butt usually adds 1/4").

 

In order to play at 44.75", the shaft should be 43". I'm positive about this, I just reshafted my R5 :golfer:

 

Those measurements are assuming you're measuring from the sole in playing position along the shaft to the end.

strange, the two I reshafted lately needed 42,5" to play at 45" with 1,5" insertation, that was also the length of the pullouts ?!

 

Gripped, the length of my pullout was 42.5" gripped, but my club played at 44', which is what I imagine yours did as well. Provided we're measuring in the same way.
