Anyone Played DG S400's in Irons

I've been playing PX 6.0's in my Mizuno MP60's. Like them okay, but looking to lower ballflight. I've tried S300's and X100's (too whippy; too harsh).

I've been doing a lot of golf-focused conditioning over the past few months, and have increased my distance by almost a club. Haven't checked SS lately, but currently hit my 8 iron about 160-165 and 5 iron about 195-205.

Just wondering if S400's might be a good solution for lower trajectory and control, without significant loss of distance. Haven't tried hard-stepping S300's yet, but would also consider that.

Anyone have any experience with these?

s 400's feel heavy and only moderately lower your ball flight. you need to decrease your launch angle, thats why the px's are not good for you. soft stepping x100s might be better, unless you dont mind the weight of the s400.

Yes the PX are higher launch, so softstepping an X100 would be the best of both.

Good topic...just in the process of testing S400's, coming from Px 6.0 myself....I hardstepped the s400's..and now the ball flight is too low and gone is the silky feeling of the s400...so I'm going to reverse the hard step and try them that way...and honestly I can't feel the weight difference...but I never had an issues with the px 6.0's either...not really sure why I wanted to try something else...

I had Joe K. install S400's in a set of 681's for me, i have not had a chance to play with them on the course, although i did hit them in the dome over the winter, i did not notice much in feel or flight to the 681's w/ S 300's, i will let you know, my next round with be with the S4 set.

JHR/Metal - let me know what you think after you've had a chance to hit the S400's.

JHR - BTw, how do you like your 695MB vs. the 681's. I have an opportunity to get a set of new 681's, and like the fact that they are reputed to help manage launch (not too high). But worried they may be way too much club for me (currently playing MP32's).
