What is a better shaft / head combo?

Higher loft w/ mid-kick or low loft w/ low kick?

I've narrowed my new driver selection down to the 905R but am stuck between two clubs.

The 9.5 w/ YS-6 stiff (high launch)

or

the 10.5 w/ ProForce V2 stiff (mid launch)

I live in the middle of nowhere and don't have access to a launch monitor but at the range I seem to hit them both equally well and with similar launch angles. The ProForce is a little heavier but I've been told that a heavier club will help me keep it on plane.

Just wondering what will produce more consistency for me between the two choices.

well its my understanding (corect me if im wrong) that the high loft higher kick point soports a cut and lower loft lower kick point soports a draw. so thefore if you hit a fade i would go low/low if u play a draw go high/high.

I didn't know that....curious to hear if that's true. I think I liked the 10.5 loft with the mid kick shaft better and I did notice that it was harder to hit a draw with then my R7. I don't mind and actually would prefer a high soft fade with my driver.....much easier to control than the sweeping hook IMOP.

 

I was hitting a nice high, long, 275+ fade with it at the range today and just figured I wasn't coming through solid today but maybe my swing was fine and it was the club causing that little fade. It was just a little 10 - 15 yard fade....very nice.

The 10.5 will be easier to hit straight when you are swinging bad. Higher lofts tend to produce more backspin which usually means less side spin. If the launch numbers are the same, I would go with the 10.5.
