How do you mark your golf balls? (Merged)

I play HX Tour's, one wedge shot is all i need, and the ball is all marked up :lol:

I fill in a dimple with green sharpie left of the number, and silver sharpie right. Both sides. Sometimes a silver putting line opposite the side with the ball type printed on it.

Same way for 10 years....Two dots on the logo...one above and one below the "L". Haven't seen anyone else use this so far. I used to use a line over the side stamp, but with the newer balls I don't need to. Pic won't load....must be too big.

I only mark my ball for tournaments.

 

On each side of each logo:

blue dot on the right, yellow on the left, black on top between the two 12 dots in all

 

Thinking about putting a stripe all the way around.

With all the Titleist commercials on about how the PGA players mark their Titleist I thought it would be fun to see how the folks here mark their golf ball.

 

I make my ball with the Colorado State Flag above the name. It is a yellow circle outlined with a red C and two blue stripes. It looks good on the ball and I have yet to see any other player mark their ball with it.

In all seriousness though, I just put a sharpie dot at the end of the logo. I only use orange, green, or purple though.

I used to put 5 small dots around the number, in reference to my college hockey number, wore 25 in the minors, so 5 on one side * 5 on other is 25

 

Now that I have kids, i let my daughter who is almost 3 mark my ball for me. Particularily the night before a member-member tourney at my club. For Memorial Day, I let her color in almost my entire ball with 4 different colored sharpies. It's pretty funny looking, and you always knwo where on the clubface you hit the ball. I will try to get a pic of one of the ones I let her scribble in one or two colors up, the sleeve of completely covered balls is long since gone.

Alot of great ideas. I was surprised though that some posted that they don't mark the ball. This would be difficult in a ruling i would think any way.

No real reason other than laziness I suppose, and it's never come back to haunt me. I suppose one day I'll play a wrong ball and it will though. No doubt from that day on I'll mark my ball religiously. :drinks:

 

Probably right. A loooooong time ago a teammate and I hit our tee balls right down the middle of a fairway that dropped away from us so you couldn't see where the balls landed.

 

We got down there and the ball swere about 5 yards apart whereupon we discovered we'd both play the same ball - Make, model and number.

 

We were both "lost". :lol:

 

Never played an unmarked ball since. :lol:

I color in the number with a pink sharpie and put a black spades symbol on it (spades like the card, ace of spades).
