Ogio Shling on Vision SS bag

Has anyone had a chance to try out Ogio's new Shling system? They've got them on two bags and I'm interested in buying it. Any input would be great. Thanks!

Sold the first two we got in 2 minutes.

 

 

 

Got two more today. This strap may be on all high end carry bags in the next two years. Particularly for those who have shoulder problems. The no-reach-back is great.

Some broader shouldered guys have started to complain the plastic part is digging into their fronts regardless of the pad positions. Make sure you load it up with at least 14 clubs because that makes all the difference in the world whether it is comfortable or not.

I have the Vision SS with shling carry system. At first i didnt like it, i noticed the front part which is the handle would dig into my chest. But if you adjust the traps and actually make the bag almost parallel to the ground you reduce the pressure on your chest. Also when i put it on i kind of pick it up off my shoulders and push the strap back. The more i wear it the more i like it.

I have a Flight SS and it felt weird at first, but it does feel more comfortable after awhile. After some adjustment to the shoulder harness to find the right fit, it does a better job at weight distribution than any other carry system I've tried. I carry a lot of items in my bag and my previous bag was uncomfortable to carry for 18 holes because the straps would slip toward the ends of my shoulders and I felt I was leaning forward too much. The biggest advantage I see in the system is that it promotes an upright carry position and the lighter perceived weight.

I just bought one the other day and used it yesterday, at first it is kind of tricky to slip it on your shoulders the right way but once you get used to it it is awesome.....a must have!

The Schling is very cool, but it's currently a $80-100 feature. The Vision SS bag looks identical to the Grom (correct me if I'm wrong), except for the Schling and the nice lift handle / Schling rest thingie. The 2006 Grom is around $140-ish (I got mine for $135), and the Vision is $230. The Flight is $180 on special at GolfSmith and is a nice but basic bag aside from the Schling. I'd say the Flight bag sans Schling is a $100 bag.

 

When it comes down in price, I think they'll sell a ton of these (and I'll be in line), but right now I think it's a little too premium for what it is.

I didn't think it was that bad, I bought mine at Golf Galaxy for $199 and there was another Ogio (don't know which model) without the schling for $179 and most of the other brands premium stand bags are $160+ so its really not that bad of a price IMO.

I have a Flight SS bag and used it for about six rounds. Then I tried my Hoofer II again to compare. Lets just say there is no comparison.....The Shling system is WAAAAAY more comfortable and easy to use (for me). I don't see myself ever going back to a two strap carry system again...It's that good!

Yeah, I think the biggest compliment I can give the bag is at one point I was talking to someone and I forgot that I was carrying the bag. The weight distribution is that good. With other bags, I was always aware I was carrying several pounds on my back.

Good to hear the positive reports. I have been looking at the Flight SS online for sometime now and finally came across the Flight SS and the Vision SS today. Tried the Flight on with a few clubs for feel and it feels very nice. I am going back tomorrow with my clubs for a more realalistic test, but right now I am leaning toward the Vision over the Flight. The top opening seems a little larger on the Vision.

 

We shall see tomorrow.

The top woode system on the vision is larger, but from my experience, because i have had both bags now, was that the flight was easier to get clubs out of. the flight has the woode lite and i think its easier because on the Vision there are little useless ribs to "divide" the shafts within each slot. They tend to catch my grips on the way out. try it out for your self but when i did the smaller woode system on the flight was easier to get clubs in and out of

... disagree with you abou the flight being a $100 bag without the shling. at $200 the bag is overpriced. I had some trouble getting comfortable with the shling, but think i finally have now. beyond that, i feel that the bag is very nice quality and very well designed ... the pocket configuration is just right imo (better than my hoofer 3). it's a very good-looking bag too.
