problems with the ball drawing

what gives?

so, i went out and played 34 holes today (18 legit, and then ran through to play another 9 that went so fast it turned into 16, but i was also experimenting with different shots, and playing holes differently) and on a few occasions i ended up drawing the ball when i didn't want to. had problems on one hole with the driver, no big deal, i was swinging really flat. but on one hole, with the ball below my feet, i hit my hybrid and kept drawing it. normally, with a downhill lie i push/fade the ball. does this make any sense?

the other problem was on a few holes i opted to go with a little more club and choke down, and everytime i did that i drew the ball. does that make any sense?

Sounds like your taking the club too far inside on your back swing. I would try leveling out your swing plane to get the club started properly. The inside to inside is a sure formula for a draw/hook. You may even want to experiment with taking the clubhead slightly outside the swing plane on your back swing.

Maybe it's this simple...When you choke down you're going down to a skinnier part of the grip. From what I've been told, when grips aren't big enough for your hands, the draws and hooks are more likely to appear...too big and here come the fades and slices. Swing plane is swing plane, repeat it and you're fine...but adjust your grip accordingly.

BTW, I've been having really good luck doing something I heard Judy Rankin discuss. Using the right hand grip as the clubface alignment hand. Neutral left hand for everything...strong, neutral, or weak right hand grip creates the shape of the ball flight.

I've had this problem as well and for me it seems like a combo if taking it inside too much and also not rotating and clearing my hips on the follow through, resulting in getting the club stuck way behind my body. I think when the ball is below your feet it's easy to forget to rotate your body because you're trying to stabilize yourself...
