yes Tours have a TXXXX serial on the head... you may be sure, but the lack of a TXXXX kills the value if you happen to sell it....as long as you hit it good, it's all good.

Asthetically nothing? Face angle and weight Heavier head is a good indicator, but is it heavier due to Hot melt, or Tip weight???? There are a few tour heads unserialized. Many cleveland serials are done after the club is spec'd so they can log that data into the system for record keeping to duplicate a desired spec!

All retail heads are mainly 192 g. They need to be 45.5 to play at a desired Swing weight D2 ish. there are a few heavier but they are usually weighed by hot melt or tip weights...

Tour heads also will have B or C on the hosel, but not all.

Aside from the heavier head, the face ange is 1 - 1.5open at 10.5 degrees.

I think youguys are misunderstanding my post....i am not questioning the authenticity as I KNOW it is tour, straight off the nationwide tour.

i was just curious about the tour markings etc.....now i know! and luckily this aint for sale, cause if it were it sounds like without the txxxx serials, it may not be worth much! :golfer:

I'm glad you like it, and I wish I had one like it. I'm curious how people measure face angles on drivers without the head being already marked following measurment by one of the tour departments. How did you get the info on the face angle on your HiBore?

Are there any marks on it from bending? Or do you think that it was a head that was cast as an open-face-angle?

Has anybody bent a HiBore? Joe K.?

i know the face angle because a very good friend of mine got it from the van that way! easy. no clear marks on it from bending, however my eye may not be tuned in as well as others. im sure jk would have no bother doing such customizations....well i hope as he's doing my 905R at the moment...nly kidding joe!....hands of god!

Most of the tour heads are stamped TXXX and some are not. My understanding is that it is not the van itself that does the stamping but which tour it is going to etc. determines if its getting the TXXX serialed head versus the no serial tour issue head. My understanding was that some of the mini tours and the college departments etc get tour heads that are not stamped with the TXXX serial simply for record keeping. When they come back from one of these players they can identify that its not a purchased tour head etc. Not 100% sure but this is what I have been told by fairly reliable sources.

I've gotten drivers off the Cleveland van at a few New England Pro Golf Tour events with & without serial numbers.

good theory, but then how does that explain this coming from a top performing nationwide player?

I have a Lefty Tour Issue Clevaland Comp 9.5' sits square to open that I got from a Nationwide Tour player with No Serial Number. It has a heavy head and very different sound then the retail Comp.

The guy in the Cleveland Tour van said this head was designed for Steve Flesh, and that they didn't make to many of them.

Different head but from the same OEM maybe this helps a bit?

im glad the intention of this thread wasnt to larify if it is a tour issued club.!!!!!!!!!!!!!! personally cameron ct if it came from a player on the PGA, EUROPEAN OR NATIONWIDE i think it should be considered TOUR ISSUED.

THe purpose of this post was to see what way the retails are marked, as well as the different ways the tour models are marked......

I now know that tour issue, can be marked in a variety of ways.......or example, a good frind of mine just recieved a driver from a top 20 pga tour player, and the only marks it has is a B on the hosel.....no serials and no Txxxx.

The TXXXX number is actually the players number in clevelands database. Players preferences are stored in there. I have talked to cleveland staffers who know their number. They can call up and ask for a new Hibore with specs for #4021 or whatever number they are and the club comes made exactly for them. It is an easier way for the van guys to make new clubs than sit down and ask every single question about it. Most of the Hibores in that tourvan bag were made to the specs of pros comps or 460's, the pro didn't ask for it to be made, they did it in hopes the pro wouldl like it and play it. Then the pro didn't like it, so they stick em in a huge bag for everyone else to try.

Are you certain the TXXXX is the player number? I was under the impression that Vijay or any tour player would not go into the Tour Van say "Hi my player number is TXXXX can you make up a driver for me?" I've looked at the database and players are not listed accordingto the TXXXX but according to their names alpabetically. I'm pretty certain the TXXXX is for data base purpose I agree but not the player number but rather it's for the make up of a certain driver that a player requests. So if Vijay asks for 3 drivers, all 3 drivers will have different TXXXX numbers which are fed into a database. The if Vijay likes one of the three drivers, the equipemt rep and the tour van guys will know which one he likes of the three for future reference.

Edit.

The TXXXX numbers for the clubs are listed under each player's profile. Cetain tour HO' have more than 100 TXXXX number in their profiles.
