How much shoulder tilt for each club?

How do you know what's too much or not enough?

If I tilt my shoulders and spine angle back to launch a driver and it feels good do I set up differently for each club or try to keep it the same for every shot?

Should my shoulders be more level and spine straight up and down for hitting a SW?

What about a 6 iron?

If it's different for each, how do you get it right?

IMO the length of the club and desired face angle dictate the shoulder tilt, not to mention ball position. The shoulder tilt will vary through out your set because the ball will be farther back/forward in your stance and you will have to adjust with your shoulders.

 

I would do what feels natural for each club, if you are set-up properly with the ball in the right position, it will adjust itself.

Exactly. Another easy way to determine this is to simply align your upper Arms (Biceps) parallel to the target. If you hold a club (or old shaft) across your biceps, the shaft should point directly down the target line. Lineup parallel like this - and your shoulder tilt will take care of itself naturally.

My problem is that I tend to overdo the shoulder tilt at times. Especially with the driver...it's like the more "behind" the ball I am the more confident I am and feel like I can really go after it on the upswing.

 

I'm working on leveling my shoulders a little and maintaining that spine angle throughout my swing. I have a tendency to slide forward in my downswing causing a steep angle of attack....great for short irons, but not so great for getting the long irons and woods airborne.
