Need advice on X460 Tour

Hey fellas I just have a quick question for all of you about the Callaway X460 Tour. I recently went to Golf Galaxy and hit all the new drivers. All the drivers I hit had stock stiff flex shafts in them and at the end of the day I hit the X460 Tour 9.5* the best. The only problem I have with this is that it was indoors so I really don't know what my true ball flight with this club will be like. I'm really considering going with X460 Tour 8.5* with a prolaunch Stiff flex shaft. I have played this shaft in a couple of drivers now and I love the launch it gives me but I just wanted a little more roll so that is why I'm considering going to 8.5*. I have never played an 8.5* driver before so I'm a little nervous about this. What makes it worse is that Golf Galaxy didn't have any 8.5 Tours in left hand so I couldn't try one out. Actually their selection was terrible for lefties....I was a little angry about that!!!
Do you guys think this combo would be worth trying for me. Just so you know my average swing speed on the Golf Galaxy launch monitor was 105-107mph and I have a smooth slower tempo to my swing. I hit the 2 Cleveland drivers I have now really high but I hit them longer then any other driver I have ever had. I think I hit the Cleveland 460 9.5 with prolaunch S flex the best out of the 2 that I currently own. I usually average around 265-275 with the setup I already have. I would really appreciate any advice you guys could toss my way because I'm pretty much confused on what I should do.

Why would you consider changing if you're hitting the Cleveland 9.5* with the Pro Launch S-flex 265-275 yards? I doubt that you'll get any more out of the X460. There's something to be said for knowing where and how far the ball is going off the tee! If you are bound and determined to change drivers then I would suggest that you try the X460 with the NV75 S-flex. This shaft will tighten dispersion and launch lower than the Pro Launch.

Hey Mike the only reason I was thinking about switching is because I'm addicted to trying new stuff. I'm not saying that this club is going to replace the Clevelands in my bag. Another reason I was thinking about switching is that my misses with the Launcher are hooks and they don't really stay in play. With the Tour and a square face I think this might help that. I'm not really looking for more distance as I'm totally happy with the distance I'm getting right now and I'm sure there isn't any combo that is going to improve it. There might be a combo that helps me become more accurate without giving up any distance though and that's why I continue my search for the ultimate driver.

Yooper, I hear ya!!! When the new stuff starts hitting the stores I begin to get the itch too. I haven't found (or purchased) another driver that works better than my Fusion FT-3 Tour but I still go hit them all!

 

You're probably right, the face angle will help a bit. The Fusion FT-3 Tour Neutral may be a better choice if you want to eliminate the ugly left shot.

I hit the FT-3 Tour and I liked it but just not as much as I liked the X460 Tour. For some reason the FT-3 didn't setup as well as the X460 visually to me. I got very similar results from both drivers though. I don't think I could go wrong with either one of them. The question is do I go with 8.5* or 9.5* of loft. Maybe I should just buy both and then just sell the one that doesn't work out....haha.

Well after debating this for a day or so I decided to buy the Callaway X460 Tour 9.5 with the ProLaunch Stiff flex shaft. If the club doesn't work out I can sell it on ebay and besides I still have my two Clevelands to fall back on.
