Yep, have two of them and love them. Each are in Sonartec Md, 17 and 21*.

I ordered X and tipped 3/4" and they are perfect. Great mid-mid flight with very tight control. Shaft is mid bend and 2.2 torque I think. My driver SS is 112 for reference.

Check out the Aldila ebay store if you havent already. These shafts are usually 15 bucks or so.

These shafts are selling for under $20 on ebay. I have them in 2 of my clubs-Adams Peanut and 3446. They are high launching but perform very well. Not many people buy 105 gram shafts and it appears Aldila still has a bunch of them left. The lower weight NVS shafts still fetch a pretty penny.

Does anyone know how the NVS 105 compares to the NV 105?

Well I took the plunge and purchased 2 NVS-105's for my Sumo2 hybrids. They are a steal at $12.97/ea in the Aldila store on the bay. Purchased the stiff version.

I will report back when I try them out.

The NVS has a softer tip section for a higher launch angle and more spin than the NV series 105g shaft.

I have both and the NV has a much stiffer feel. It's a great shaft to put in play on days when it's windy IMO.
The Aldila store appears to have two different versions of the NV 105. One has torque of 1.8 and the other has 2.4. Is there a big difference in these two shafts? The ones with 2.4 of torque are on sale for $6.47.
I had the same question. I am making a hybrid for a Christmas present and I wanted to see the difference according to Aldila. I never heard back from customer service so any help here would be great.

When you mean you tip 3/4", is that mean cut the tip 3/4"? Does it make it stiffer?
Produce a higher or lower launch? (I'd assume if you cut it at the tip, you would lower the bend point therefore giving a higher launch)
Sorry guys for the novice questions. just trying to educate myself.....

Tipping will give you a lower lauch and lower spin. It will make the shaft play "stiffer".

Re: 2.4 vs 1.8 NV torque

The 2.4 torque were the original NV hybrid shafts, and the 1.8 torque were the tour models. After a short time Aldila stopped producing the 2.4 shafts and only produced the 1.8 shafts, which were released at retail. This info used to be on their ebay store back when I bought my NVS's.

Re: Weight

No, I dont think the 105 feels heavy at all. If you think about it, a hybrid is supposed to be an iron replacement. Most iron shafts weight more than 110 grams, so a 105 gram hybrid does not feel heavy at all. It actually helps keep it under control vs a lightweight 85g hybrid shaft.

One last thought, the NVS is not high launching by any means. The light weight driver shafts are very high luanch and spin, but the hybrids are mid bend mid spin, lower torque. Really should not even carry the NVS name at all.

I agree with you 100% on the NVS hybrid shafts. I have a few of the 105's and they are great. Awesome prices on these now, almost like stealing.

I have the NVS 105X in 3 different hybrids and love the shaft. I only have one in the bag at the moment, but the other two are also in the rotation. Mine also came from the Aldila eBay store. Quite a steal IMO.

Thanks for pointing this out. I picked up two of the NVS 105X to replace the stock VooDoo shafts in my 909H hybrids - I've been hooking the crap out of them.

Did you find the NVS to play true to flex?

i think the nvs 105 hybrid plays maybe half a flex soft. i'm usually borderline between stiff and x-stiff and the 105x was perfect for me.
