Need a new stand bag

After a couple of years of hard service its time to retire the old standbag.

I saw the TM bag that looks like the R7 staff. I was pretty much dead set on that, based on appearance, but now I am hearing a lot of buzz about the ogio shling bags. The Flight looks real nice. I really can't decide. Anyone got any suggestions?

pesonaly id go with the hoofer extreme there great for walks but the shling is also nice ive never walked 9 or 18 with it but it feals nice i just dont like its apearance

if you're interested in the schling, try putting a bunch of clubs in it and putting it on in the store. it'll take some getting used to. personally, i'd go with the grom. or if it was a walking bag only, then a sunmountain or an ogio vaporlite

I have the Ogio Flight SS w/shling. I liked the bag but wasn't sure if it was better than my Hoofer. After about 5 rounds I tried my Hoofer again and this is what I have decided...I'm never going back to a two strap system if I can help it. The Shling system is much more comfortable (for me). I primarily walk when I play and I feel way less fatigue using the Shling after 18 holes.

I was tempted to get the Schling system, but I figured in my mind that it's kind of going to be like the first model year of a car -- lots of bugs the first year. Plus they delayed it's introduction by a year too.

 

I can understand why you're tempted though. In the end, I bought a 4 pound Ozone.

I would go with ping, always have used their bags, never had any problems

I have the FlightSS as well as the Hoofer Extreme. The only reason I got the Flight is I can't stand the eight way divider on the Ping that has since been changed. The shling is nice. You just have to take time to get it fitting right. I have played four rounds with it and am still fine tuning it during my rounds. It does make your bag feel lighter than a traditional bag of the same weight.

Yeah I am thinking shling is the way to go...

 

I have a bad habit of one straping it with my current bag. This led to me ripping the strap in 2 different place (called the manufacture and the first thing they said was, "were you carrying the bag with both straps"... doh!) Also it really makes my shoulders feel unbalanced which can't be good for the swing...

 

It sounds like the shling is a fairly reliable system, and should help cure my bad bag habits.

the current schling system is actually an improved version of the original which is why its release was delayed for so long. the original design didnt have any padding.

Check out the Puma golf site. I just picked up the green/white stand bag. It was a tough choice between that and the all yellow-gold Japan Cobra staff bag. In the end the putter well in the Puma won it over.

That puma bag is damn ugly fo sho! I guess I'm not cool enough for their stuff.

too bad they dont offer the shling system to fit their older bags cus i already have a grom! :)

The shling system doesn't work well with the older bags IMHO. I took off the harness and tried it on an Ogio Grom and the point of balance was off and it didn't hang as naturally as the Flight SS. I think Ogio did a great job in R&D to get the balance point right in the shling system.

Either way, sounds like you are gonna spend a lot of money on a bag
