I think I like ladies grips

My girlfriend has decided to get into golf, so I bought her some cheap shovels to play around with. Naturally I have been fooling around with her clubs, although I have yet to hit a ball with them.

 

I have noticed one thing. Her grips feel more comfortable to me than my grips (mens standard). Could it be that my hands fit better on women's sized grips. I wouldn't say I have small hands, but they are meaty, I wear a cadet large glove.

 

Has anyone come across this before? Is it something worth trying. What would be some tells of grips that ar too big?

Hey Phillypete, maybe you have those girlie mans hands. :ok: Haven't you graduated yet? I like a more slim grip too, I normally milk them down a touch, stretch them out. :)

Phillypete, I also wear the same size glove, and I use Golf Pride TV ladies grips (ribbed) and even have them stretched a little on all my clubs. I had a problem with the standard mens grips with it slipping out of my fingers and getting down on the heel of my hand during the swing, and even when I was able to maintain my grip it felt like I wasn't releasing the club very well. Switching to the ladies grip alleviated both problems and seriously improved my ball striking. So I have girlie hands...so what! LOL

Holy Moly! that is totally the way I feel! I always struggle with keeping the club in the fingers, and I also struggle with releasing the club. Thats it, I'm getting regripped ASAP!

I assure you no one has ever thought my hands were girlie... too many years working in machine shops for that! My hands look more like an old catchers mit.

 

I graduated last year... working for a living now and still can't afford all the clubs I want!

I am also considering ladies grip on my clubs because I have short fingers (I wear medium cadet glove).

 

Currently, the standard grip that came with my driver, fw, hybrid, irons, and wedges are 0.580 size on 0.600 butt shaft (which makes them 1/64 larger than standard). The just seem slightly big for my hands.

 

What is the size difference between Men's standard vs. Women's standard grip? I am thinking about putting Women's 0.580 grip on my clubs. Will this make it slightly smaller than my current setup? or should I just go with 0.600 men's grip?

ok scratch that concept. I tried my girlfriends clubs at the range and it was awful, my fingers were pressing into my palms. At least I don't think I have girlie hands anymore!
