Anyone Play Soft Stepped DGS300?

Hey All,

 

I have always played DG's and loved them, but have purchased a set of Srixon I302's which came with Rifles 6.0's. I figure give them a shot, as I love the heads so much.

 

But all I can say for the shafts so far is that they are different, how? I can not put my finger on it yet. So I have a bunch of DGS300 pullouts from TM irons which for some reason or another all come soft stepped.

 

I want to try them out in the long irons first before I reshaft the entire set.

So what I would like to know is, does anyone play Soft stepped DGS300 shafts and if so why and how do you like them.

 

My Driver SS = 105-110, and I play a my irosn 1/4" short 37.75" 5 iron.

I don,t know if this helps but,I was going to order a set of Ping i5s.One of there stock shafts is DNG S400.I asked Ping what would softstepping twice do(to get a little more flex/softness),they said they would play S200.Unless you have the hands of a surgeon I would say soft stepping one time would would get the S300s to S200.Bit more flex/soft.I never got Pings ,went for a nice used set of Xtous with DNG S300.

Thanks for the input. I am going to order Some DGS400, DGS300 and just try them out to see which I like better. I play DGS200 in my wedges and love them, but am unsure if they are not stoute enough for the long irons.
