New white format, does it hurt your eyes?

This new format seems to be straining my eyes. Anyone else here having similar problems or think its too bright?

I kind of agree with you there Bill. I've been using the 'old' skin too, because I preferred it.

 

I don't know why the new format is straining, but it is a little bit. I miss WRX classic.

You're right cpa, change is never easy. I build web applications and sites, and people, including myself always resist change.

 

I did find the 'default' skin in my board settings.

 

Thanks to Ryan for providing that as an option.

I'm just glad to know I wasn't the only one. We have this saying here at work, "change is good, it hurts, but its good". Haha thought I'd share that. Thank you very much Ryan for leaving the default option. :)

At this point, the development of the default forum skin has been stopped and all future ones will be with the new skin. It use to be alot brighter, and it hurt my eyes too. We added some shading to tone it down. Alot of people thought the "default" skin wasn't cheerful enough. We are open to suggestions on "toning" it down some more but, we have toned it down quite a bit already.

I love the new look. IMO, it is much cleaner, works better and doesn't have a lot of the extraneous elements of the previous skin. I also like how involved the owners are in the site. It is clear they are working hard to make this one of the very best sites on the net.

As long as I can still use the "Golf default" skin, I'm happy. I've got big screens and don't like the narrowed look of the new one, but that's just me. :)

We will be softening the white up today. Lower left hand corner you can change the "skin". Development on the old skin has stopped and I'm not sure how long it will be available.

I don't mind the new skin, but I like the blue contrast better so I'll keep the old one until they get rid of it.
