Anyone here play?
Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyone here plays paintball. Recently picked it up as something non-golf related to do.

I just got myself a Spyder Imagine, running CO2. I will be replacing the barrel soon (Thinking J&J ceramic), and was wondering what other upgrades people suggest with this gun.

Anyone have other non-equipment suggestions?

Thanks

Now here's a topic. I've not played in a while because of the golf addiction, but a good game of paintball is good for the soul. I own 7 pb guns, and my latest was 2 years ago which was a Tippmann A-5 with a response trigger. Tippmann is my favorite brand, but I also own a Gameface Erex pro, which is the 3rd place gun behind my A-5 and trusty Model 98. I used to play constantly. In response to your question, spiders are very solid guns stock, so an aftermarket barrell is basically the only big thing to get. IMO marbalizers are some of the best pb's you can get.

One thing I urge you to purchase is a JT headshield. It's a mask that covers the entire head, so there's less chance of concussion :) . A neck protector may be in order as well.

I do not play on a regular basis, but have played several times, and it is alot of fun.

It is quite a rush, it is hard to imagine people that have been shot at for real, it is tense and the worst thing that can happen is you might get a welt from being shot.

Great time. Sorry i don't have any recommendations for equipment, but i know they make a paint version of everything, rifles, handguns, grenades and even land mines.

I have a JT visor but not the headshield. A cap is worn backwards with the visor so the top of my head is covered. I though about a neck protector but don't want to wear too much gear due to possible fatigue/overheating/dehydration etc. I'll risk it. Besides, I always get shot in the gun or foot.

The last time I played speedball I got shot in the hopper/gun 3 different games.:cheesy: Just never remember to keep my gun hidden/covered. :)

I can't wait to play outside. :)

Playing outside when there is a lot of underbrush/cover with large teams is intense. You can't see anything most of the time but can hear mayhem around you. I played speedball (inflatable "bunkers" on a wide open are the size of a football field) indoors last week. It was fun, but not as intense or exiting as playing on a decent size woodsball field.

The variety of mines/grenades/explosives etc... that you can buy for scenario games is pretty extensive. I gave a friend of mine a grenade that was bought about 7-8 years ago on a family trip to Chicago (a curiosity I never used). It is slightly bigger than a grapefruit. Hopefully it works and makes a complete mess. :)

I play pretty regularly with friends. I live about an hour form skirmish usa, so I get to play some sweet areas. I would say stay smooth. USMC montra is slow is smooth, smooth is fast. Also try firing 2 shots in quick sucession for long-range shots, it improves accuracy. 2 balls gives you a better chance of having a ball fly true. Stay low and don't peek.

I played religiously for a very long time, and spent alot of money in the process. But then the field I was working at got shut down, and so did my drive for the game. Now, I work full time at the same field, we are re-opening, and it treats me great. Its a blast for families, and I know alot of golfers out their who play.
