FT hybrid vs. G5 hybrid

Anyone compared the two side by side?

Thus far I have resisted making any changes to hybrids but of late have become a bit more open-minded about them. My biggest hang-up with them had been their looks but, like new car models and many other things, after a while the looks grow on you. I recently hit a bunch indoors in a simulator and liked both the looks and feel of the Ping G5 and the Callaway FT hybrids (neutral). I have not seen many meaningful reviews on the FTs and though they have been out for a little while now I thought it was unusual to have so little to say about them - unless there is good reason.

For reference, my driver ss is 95-88 mph with a smooth tempo. I play regular flex shafts and generally keep the ball pretty straight. When I miss, I miss right with more of a push. Looking to replace the 3 and/or 4 iron in my set of X18's.

In any event, I have been unable to find somewhere to demo both clubs outside so that I can get a better feel for ball flight, distance, etc. I hope to do so soon but in the meantime, has anybody else compared these two hybrids side by side and, if so, any thoughts/impressions? Thanks much.

I had the chance to demo the new FT3 hybrid last weekend. Looks is good for a hybrid but not jaw dropping. But what was jaw dropping was the performance. This club was dumb easy to hit high and long. I have one directly on order with Neutral and the stock NVS 85 gram shafts had good weight and feel.

Above and beyond better than any other hybrid i have hit and I liked it better than my buddy's g5 hybrid, but i have only hit his 2 times

I also demo'ed the Ft-3 hybrid. I wasn't so impressed. For me it sat very closed, which turned me off from the start. And then the sound was very muted some may like some may not. It just sounded to me like every shot was a heel shot. I kept having to check the ball mark to make sure I was making good contact.

 

I thought the dual TP was the best in the hybrid class.

got to hit a bunch of hybrids at a demo day recently and hit both that you mentioned and the one that i found the best was...don't laugh...the adams A2 hybrid. it stood pretty squareat address and really easy to get up and felt very solid. don't let the name fool you this club can hang with the best hybrids out there.

I HAVE HAD A FT HYBRID FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS, USED IT ALOT OFF THE TEE AND OFF THE DECK, I FIND IT TO BE REALLY EASY TO HIT, LONG AND WITH A POWERFUL PENETRATING FLIGHT, I AM A SCRATCH PLAYER AND THE SET UP IS 2H 17* DRAW NVS85 STIFF. I CAN UNDERSTAND ABOUT SOME REVIEWS COMPLAINING ABOUT FEEL AND NOISE BUT I LIKE THE VERY SOLID FEEL AT IMPACT AND THE NOISE IS LIKE CALLAWAY FAIRWAY WOODS. OVERALL I WOULD DEFINATELY RECOMMEND THIS CLUB JUST MAKE SURE YOU GET THE RIGHT SET-UP.

for the price the heavenwood hybrids are great.. not a cally man.. but i do really like their fws and hybrids.. at 60 bucks diff in price for each one.. i would get the heavenwoods.
