Have had quite a few expensive bags on my way to finding what works best for me and that I enjoy playing. The gear below in my gamer bag cost by far the least of any of the other gear. Most of it is pretty old and I bought it from the BST here on WRX.

The only outlay I foresee soon is a new set of wedges and a possible reshaft of all the irons.

I'll go by what its worth, because everyone knows its only worth what you can get for it

New classic head $300 Matrix F6m2 $200
3 wood head $150 fujikura $125
5 wood head $125 fujikura $100
4 and 5 hybrid heads $60 total, shafts maybe $100 total
6-pw (these are high dollar, shafted for the whole set I own 2-pw) $1500
wedges these are expensive $500-
Putter to replicate used $250 (its priceless for me)

What is that: WOW $3310 is about right
But most of that is in three major items, the irons wedge set and drive. And the wedges are hit 2 rounds and the driver is NEW

Its just about what you like to do with your free time and an income level. Most of my stuff is older items that I purchased when they were at a low price point. I can probably play all year long and not see one other person with one of the clubs I own. Who really cares right?

I probably fork out $1000k a year on new golf items, like this year the wedges and the classic driver (s) were the big expense. I just try to upgrade a better performing club when I can but that's not expensive. Say you have a superquad TP driver nice stick. You can get $250 for it. On BST there are some R9 heads that are $250-300. So all you do now is come out of pocket the shaft cost $100- $400 typically
Thats the way to build a bag.

A friend of mine has $6000 invested in his bag, that is not including any extra clubs or anything, just a 14 club bag with the fillings. He is nuts.

I don't even own a set of golf clubs right now...LOL. But last season my bag was worth well over $1K, fortunately I did not pay for most of it. The only clubs I had to pay for were the wedges which were $225 for 3. Driver, hybrid, irons and putter were free. Bag, balls, glove were free.

I'm a bit tight with a dollar. Some call me Ebeneezer. I've been accused of having deep pockets and short arms.

I prefer "frugal." :D

My bag and approximate costs as I remember:

Cleveland Hi Bore XL driver, bought barely used for $125.
Mizuno F-60 4-wood, also barely used, $60.
Bridgestone J33 AirMuscle 2 "ibrid," stole this from the PGA Superstore used rack for a whopping $20.
Ping Eye 2 3-PW, $0. Given to me in ~1992 by someone I caddied for every week for several years.
Cleveland 588 black 56 degree, stole this from the PGA Superstore used rack for another whopping $20.
Titleist Vokey Spin Milled 58 degree. Shocking, this I bought new, I think it was $120.
Hogan Bettinardi Big Ben belly putter, also got this from the PGA Superstore used rack for $40.

Less than $400 in clubs. :D

Mizuno carry bag was about $150 and I have a $30 Daphne's Scottish Terrier headcover. Surprise, surprise - I get all of my balls from Lostgolfballs.com.

I do splurge on shoes - must take care of the dogs, and I'm a big believer in buying the best quality shoes you can afford.

This leaves plenty of cash for what it's all about - PLAY! :good:

Adaptive Golf.....look out for the one-armed man:

  Ping G425 Max Driver, 5W, 7W....+2"

  PXG 0211 hybrids, 25*, 28*, 31*….+2”

  PXG 0211 8i - SW….+3” or Sub70 699 8i - SW….+4”
