Great Post!

Let's see:

Driver: 09 Tm Burner: $299
FW: 08 TM Burner 17.5*: Free, came with the driver as part of a promotion. Retail: $199
Hybrid: 07 Tm Burner: Free, won in contest. Retail: $149
Irons: Mizuno MX-25s: Free, won in a company golf tourney. Retail: $799
Wedges: Mizuno MP-Rs: $198, $99 each
Putter: Odyssey White Ice #9: $129
Bag: Mizuno Areolite: Free, won at company golf tourney, retail: $149

I guess I only spent: $626 for a bag that was worth at the time: $1922.

Looks like I saved over $1200, should show my wife so she can let me golf more. :vava:

Guys, this is really depressing. I could have bought a lot of steaks for all that money. Just the money I spend in shafts in the last ten years could have paid for a year of college.

Driver: $120.00 used
shaft: $275.00
3 wood: $12.50 on ebay, including shipping
shaft: $300.00 (seems like a lop-sided purchase
Hybrid: $100.00 used
shaft: only $30.00
Irons: $1000.00
GW:$65.00
LW: $125.00
Putter: $650.00
Bag: $120.00

for a grand total of: $2797.00

Wow. That's nuts.

What I spend on this or that whether golf or otherwise is really no ones business. I am always caught off guard when strangers ask me how much this or that costs. I had one guy walk up to me in the parking lot of a club and ask how much my car costs; another day the post man asked how much my house and club membership costs. Another stranger asks what I do for a living and how much I make.

I shake my head at how rude they are for asking; then say :nono: sorry but if you have to ask then you can afford. I feel the same about what I spend on golf equipment and all other possessions.

I hear you Pepper, very rude to ask that stuff socially, even worse to ask a stranger. But I think golf equipment is different, at least on here. This is an enthusiasts' site, so it's a lot different than asking how much your house cost or how much your wife makes.

hmmm...never added it up before....let's see:

TM Burner Driver: $100 (used)
Nickent 4DX 3 utility wood: $80
Nickent 3DX 3 hybrid: $60
Mizuno MX-200 Irons (4-PW): $600 ($300 cash, plus about $300 in trade for my old clubs)
Vokey 50*, 54*, and 58* Wedges: $180 (2 new, one used)
Scotty Newport 2.5 Putter: $300
Ogio Grom Bag: $200

Grand Total: $1520

Certainly not cheap, but not terrible for what I think is a pretty nice bag. I'm also into cycling and you really can't touch a truly high caliber bike for anywhere near that money so relatively speaking...golf equipment is cheap. It's the greens fees that are the killer!

LOL I still game the same clubs I have for the last 7 years, is that wrong? I did take a break from golf for 2 years... I have Wilson Deep Reds and Cleveland Launcher 330 (which was big at the time). My wedges are the most expensive (CG15's), but I doubt the market value of my bag is anywhere over $500. I love my clubs though, not changing anytime soon.
