Light Wedge........ what can i do?

Got an A wedge to go with my pro combo's, this came with a speed step in and my irons are DGS300, so i went and had an S300 put in.... the guy said he would do this but when i picked it up he said he had used an DGS300 superlight coz thats the only one he had in....... the wedge is still as light as it was........ a good 20grams....... how can i increase the weight of this without affecting how it plays??

Lead tape, tip weights both will help you add weight without changing the playability of the wedge.

 

Is this a clubmaker or a friend? No clubmaker worth a dime should be just throwing in a DGSL without at least giving you a call first to tell you. I'd have him reshaft it when he gets the DG S300's back in, or do it yourself, it's EASY as pie.

Remember, DG SL won't change the swing weight, it has a different balance point. Even though teh static weight of hte club is 20g less, it shouldn't FEEL that way.

Increasing static weight by putting lead tape by the grip and the head, This will somewhat soften up the flex of the shaft, because technically...you are increasing head weight.

 

Of course, this is not a major change on a wedge shaft and depending how much you add.

 

Steel shaft is cheap, for your enjoyment of this game and if you think you need a heavier shaft to get the right feel ( especially on wedges ), I would just change it if I were you. Just my opinion!
