Oh God, the Hammer.... I managed to get a "POWWWW!!!" out as I got my chance to hit the thing. That was truly the icing on the cake. What a great time. Thanks again Mark for setting this up for us. Met some great folks out there today. Can't wait for the next one!

stayed with this bird i know in scottsdale. i live on the east side, golf links and pantano, took me 1h40mins to get to her place. then in the morning, 15 minutes from her place to the country club. worked out well.

 

also, thanks for the bagels and the excellent camaraderie, it was well worth the drive!

Aww, Tucson to PHX is a cakewalk bro. If crap didn't come up with my house, my drive was going to be 5 hours. I won't miss the next outing!

Thanks again to everyone who came out, I really enjoyed meeting everyone. Nursing a bit of a hangover this morning, I dont think I got home from the course til about 7 PM. Really had a blast though, Ive got some more pics that I'll be adding to this thread shortly.

That was a great time. I played like crapola but I didn't expect much after taking a break for a month. I did, however, dump the R9TP irons as soon as I could lol. I wish I could see the pics here at work. Alas, the firewall says "no pics for you!"

I'm pretty sure I should win the prize for Best POW! with the Hammer. I may not have hit the best drive but I'm pretty sure the whole neighborhood was like..."wtf was that scream?" LOL

Will do! My main reason for going was to see my good buddy Kevin (deadpool_25). We haven't seen each other in close to 3 years. I will make the next outing, Tucson or Phoenix.

I think I got one for the low round, and deadpool25 got the other for closest to the pin.

 

I am not too sure if there was any ultra rare gear, other than maybe the most expensive collections of bags outside a Pga event. We prob could have put on a demo day and had every manufacturer covered.

 

We were talking about putting a lime green Matrix shaft in the hammer though.

 

Thanks Mark for putting this one on. Looking forward to seeing some more pics.

I dont think anyone had a very stellar day, but Im sure all had a blast. Deadpool was closest to the pin at like 8 feet? One_Putt had the low round. I hit the longest drive with the hammer which I guess they said was like 320 hahahaha. Might have to put it in the bag! I think VinceRkg from Krank golf said he was gonna put up a driver for the longest drive but I havent heard anything for sure.

Sounds great to me! Don't want to threadjack any more than I have so if a tucson meet can happen let's start another thread or do the PM route. I can ask 2 other WRX members from Tucson to join us as well. :drinks:

U hit that thing a mile because I smashed my drive and you were still 30 yrds in front of me on a fairway with no roll. Good times. Next time we should do it at TPC scottsdale I got a hook up there

You bet I am still going to give one out!!! Mark check this, I will donate a driver to the Long Drive hole for any South West chapter event there is. I plan on being at all of them so I have no problem!! I gotta do something right!! It was a blast, had a great time meeting you guys and seeing some good swings and skills.

By the way Mark had this AMAZING flop over a bathroom over a road over a tree over a small bill that landed 2-3 feet from the hole that was 3 feet from the edge of the green for a birdie!!!!! That was amazing!!

Also Mark the friend I brought was Ray Traylor, I think you have his card. Not a member on the Wrx yet but is looking into it.

Let me know when the other is going to be and I will try and bring out some demos before the outing of our new stuff. Thanks again Mark it was a blast and yes the Bagels hit the spot.

Thanks Vince, thats awesome man! BTW, Theres no way I could do that bathroom flop shot again, there must have been a gust of wind or something that pushed me back towards the green hahaha.


I know Calc used to live out there and if Im not mistaken, he still holds the course record.


Ohio, if you can get a hookup for the group then Im sure we'd all be down. It just sucks setting up these events because it doesnt really seem like the courses are willing to give you a break on the prices, and in some cases, it ends up being even more expensive.
