www.golf702.com used to have some decent deals on it. Paiute is awesome but it's always windy out there. It literally is in the middle of the desert with nothing around it. Primm is completely worth the drive and it's some of the best golf in the area at a decent summer rate. Rio, Dragon Ridge, and Anthem are all in Henderson, pretty close to each other and all good layouts.

Primm Valley has some great golf......it's about a 40 min drive from the strip. The Lakes course is outstanding.

Mesquite (wolf Creek, and others) has some really good golf too, but it's a further drive out.

A course I played for next to nothing, is Boulder Creek (really nice track). If you get on ezlinks.com and name your price within a week before you play, you can get a great deal. I paid $60 during what would normally be $150.

absolutely skip = ripoff - Desert Pines Golf Club ($89) - Tourist scam, great marketing, terrible course.

The "Place" to play although about 45 mins south of the strip is Primm Valley: Lakes Course ($169) Awesome track. Also has a very good desert course. I would play this first.

Other places you cant go wrong: (In order of desirability)

Bear's Best ($150)

TPC Canyons ($125)

Paiute Resort ($79) - Wolf Course (probably higher rate, can be windy)

Rio Secco ($150)

Dragon Ridge ($100)

Anthem is Revere with two public courses:

Revere Golf Club - Lexington ($115) best of the two, very good!

Las Vegas National ($82) - Old course managed by American Golf - nothing special. - Cheap and should be.

Legacy Golf Club ($85) - Nothing special.

Wolf Creek in Mesquite is also awesome, but not really in Vegas.

I'm a Vegas local and I would be looking at the following

Expensive:

Reflection Bay, The Falls, TPC Canyons, Bears Best, and Wolfe course at Pauite

Dragon Ridge and Rio Secco are also great courses....some are more expensive than others.

Less Expensive:

I would look at Revere at anthem, Tuscany and Boulder Creek as my first choices.

If you want more details than above feel free to inquire or pm me.

Thanks for all of your suggestions.

I just got back to Colorado Thursday night. I ended up getting 45 holes in.

I played Sunday at Boulder Creek. Good track but the wind was blowing 35 mph by the end of the round. I would give it 3 stars. I ended up shooting 82. Not too bad in that wind. I lost a couple of balls in the desert and didn't want to got looking for them because of the Rattle Snakes.

On Monday night I played a night 9 at the Callaway par three. That was fun to play at 10 at night. I shot 3 over 30. Not too bad considereing that i forgot to get a score card and the course didn't have any yardage markers. I was sandwiched between three teenagers just learning to play and 3 drunk idiots. I have never seen three guys sooo drunk try to play golf. I was very funny to watch.

On Thursday I got an early round in at Las Vegas National Golf Club. The coures was in great shape and the staff was exceptional. It is a tough track from the back tees. The par 3's are pretty long from back there. Especially to 230+ par 3 16th. I ended up shoot 84. The driver just wasn't working. I saved several pars with some great iron shots. I would give LV National 3 stars also.

I also loved hitting balls at the Desert Pines Driving Range. I even took my coworkers out there on Wednesday to hit a bucket. They had fun and I got some good laughs.

Thanks for all your ideas. I knew where to play when I touched down in Las Vegas.

Check out www.golflasvegasnow.com for some pretty good information, but you can't go wrong at Las Vegas Paiute Golf Resort, Legacy Golf Club, Tuscany, The Revere, The Badlands, Painted Desert, Rio Secco or Bali Hai. And in the summer you should get some pretty good rates. When you set up a tee time be sure to ask about course conditions because some of them have had a tough summer with the high temperatures. Also, there are several golf package providers that can set up your room and golf.
