Are the heads on an r5 TP N and r5 N the same?

And i know about the interchangable weights

I have been playing an r5 TP 8.5 X for several months. I noticed a lack of height and decided try to find a 9.5. I didnt want to drop the bank on a TP so i got a r5 9.5 with YS6+ Stiff. They say feel it determined almost completely on sound. When i hit this thing it doesnt sound the same, its much louder and clanky like a cobra. I also noticed a diff feel, this i could actually feel, in the club head, like there was less response. I like the results of the reg r5. But i wanted to find out what the difference in the heads are if any (besides the weights). TM doesnt have any info on the fact if there are any diff in the heads.

I remember reading a the Taylormade blog and a rep said that the TP has a higher CG for a more boring flight.

TP has a deeper face and is more square or even slightly open.

I played both heads and the differences to me were night and day! The R5 TP has a more solid feel and and a more boring trajectory. The trajectory difference could also be due to the diamana shaft in the TP vs an NV in the regular R5, but I really don't think that was a big factor. I think its due to the fact that the COG is higher in the TP. Did you ever compare the head shapes? Besides the TP having a more square clubface, the head of the TP is not as elongated from front to back as the regular R5. They really look different although both have the same 450cc.

Slightly thicker face in the TP , thats for sure .. definitely less "clankly" than normal r5. COG is different due to different shapes thus the retail D is easier to put in fairway than the TP.

I'm really curious however how TP differs from Tour issue in terms of COG.. I want a more boring flight than the TP.. and now experimenting by sticking lead tapes on the crown of the TP.

Try an accuflex evolution, that will undoubtedly bring your flight down. I play th R5 TP as you can see and I had the V2 75x in it and to bring the ballflight down i stuck in an Accuflex evolution, boy did that do the trick.
