3 woods dilemma

I have a V steel 3 wood 15* and a rescue dual 19* in my bag right now but I'm thinking of trading both of them to get an callaway x 3 wood.

 

 

I have just started playing about 8 months ago and just noticed there is not much difference in the distance of my 3 wood and my hybrid i sometimes pick one for the other just for the sake of hitting either of them.

 

I have tried the x 3 wood and seems fine with me and read some reviews that it's one of the best fairway wood in the market.

 

Just want to have your opinion on me trading my v steel and hybrid so it would be easier for me to pick which one to use. The course that I usually play is not that long.

 

 

I recently both a x460 driver and just wondering that x fairway would wrok for me also.

The V-steel is absolutely one of the best fairway woods ever. Rather than trade it (and your hybrid) in, I'd recommend you do one of the following (based on the 8-month experience you mentioned):

 

1.) Get lessons and/or get fitted for shafts to put in those clubheads.

2.) Take the less-consistent one out of your bag (but keep it), and get another wedge.

 

Most golfers of your experience level are able to hit their 3 wood farther than their driver (and much straighter). Keep that in mind.

V Steel is not the easiest FW to hit, maybe it's not setup right for you. Something is wrong if it's the same distance as the hybrid 19*. The Cally X will be easier to hit but make sure you really get a shaft you can control as that's most likely what is costing you distance with the 3W...or you are having a very tough time with center contact on the 3W.
