mackenzie golfbags?

I have two really old leather Mackenzie bags, and I am thinking about wood headcovers from them.

 

So, the usual questions: Do you like them, are they easy to clean and handle? Worth the cost, will they last?

I doubt there are many people willing to drill holes in their MacKenzie bag.  I'd imagine that trestle sticks would likely be the most used approach for those needing their bag to stand up.

Blast from the past.    I got my Mackenzie years ago, from an old club from days gone by.  The original model.  Great bag, no complaints, but long story short going from having a tiff with some of the (at the time) newer Mackenzie mgmt over an unfilled yet fully paid order, to being a cheerleader for McKennon until he unscrupulously ghosted me, thankfully with none of my money, to getting a CC credit but never hearing from Mackenzie via phone,  I still like my old 'murdered out' Peter Jacobsen edition. 

 

Mine is the original with the steel framework.  Much heavier than the newer ones.  Rock solid, though I have put a few scuffs in it.   Will take some photos tomorrow. 

 

Perhaps after 11 years and all new faces it's safe to reach out again and try for another one, in my 'team' colors....lol

2002 iirc...

The steel framework weighs a LOT more than the new carbon frame.   I'd love to send it back and have the framework replaced with the carbon.  570g vs 70g IIRC....
