Hello, I am considering getting a 340g 34" model and wonder what you think of this putter.

Is it a poor man's 009 or is it a worthy putter in its own right?

 

also How does the pro plat finish hold up and "feel" ???

I have several Mil Specs and find them to be great putters. I still think they are one of the best models for guys who don't want to shell out the big money for the custom or newer models of Camerons. Feel wise, Pro Plat's are a little more "clickier" then SS models. Some don't care for it and find the Studio Stainless models better. I prefer the Pro Plat's over the SS's though. I like the clickier feel and find that I get more touch and feel from them then I do in the softer SS models. The finish is very easy to take care of. You don't have to do all the oiling that's needed in the Oil Cans and black oxide finishes. I just use a little Flitz if theres any scratches or spots on it and it looks like new.

i've got the 34" one that i cut down to 33.5" and its been my stand-by for 4 years. i added a ton of lead tape so i could get a better feel. for me when i got it, it was between the mil-spec and studio stainless and the mil-spec will seem/sound a little harder but i love the click off it.

THe Mil Specs are a nice putter. I just got two 33" 350g models for about $50 each that I am sending into the custom shop to have done. One is going to stay 33" for my son and mine is going to be 34" and should be my gamer.
