Best Driver that is not 460cc

need some advice

I am having a hard time hitting these bigger drivers. Maybe unable to square the club correctly. I am looking for something in the 360-420 range. What do you think is the best driver in this range?

r7 tp tour!!!!! long and workable and can be had for a song now!

 

the g2 was by far the longest driver as far as carry for me. It just had no roll at all but it is a great stick as well.

Slightly older and significantly less expensive is the MP001 in the 400cc. I loved it until I tried the Callaway X460.

Seems like it would be hard to beat the original R7 quad (400cc), especially considering the prices that they're selling for now. R7 ht would be an alternative too if you don't like the tall square face.

 

I have the Mizuno MP-001 (400cc). It's just awesome, sets up beautifully for me and very easy to hit straight. It's a graphite top, sounds a little odd ("chunk" instead of "smack"). Before that I had a TM R580 which is the same size but much harder to hit and didn't hit as high. When they were closing them out earlier this year, you often could find new ones for $99, and used and eBay are super cheap. For 1/3 the price of an R7 quad, it's definitely worth trying out.

905T is 400cc....i disagree...i think it is one of the worst drivers i have ever hit...thing just feels dead/dull compared to the 983K....many love and hate the 905T

I'd go with the R5 TP. It's not 460 but 450cc :), and to me doesn't look much larger than the previous R7. Maybe I've adjusted though. It's very forgiving, hits long for me, and I love the stable Diamana shaft in it.

Cobra SZ 400 "Tour"! It got a square face!

And it comes with Vista Pro 65 shaft.

 

You can easily score a used one on ebay less $100 now.

Try the Taylormade R580XD, it's 440cc but it's easy to hit and square up at impact. :)

These are all 425cc heads.

 

They all hit insanely long.

But the 420R might be the longest and most solid driver I've ever hit!

I recently switched from the G5 to the R7 425. The 425 is easier for me to control and square.

 

Distance is about the same. I am not losing as many to the right. I have it set up for neutral weighting.

 

I tried the draw weighting and I was hooking the heck out of it.
